Impacts around here are worse than storm Isha, a large (12ft x 8ft x 7ft) shed has been picked up by the wind and blown over a hedge, several bits of fencing down, and no doubt some other damage will be spotted when I go out at lunchtime. Here storm Isha had an amber warning, and this one is yellow warning, makes no sense, both are of similar intensity, and as such forecast was similar wind speeds.

Very strong winds here this morning, woke me at 4.30am 59mph gusts in Bridlington, so probably low 60s here because of our elevation, so similar to Storm Isha. Because wind is W today rather than SW we have less shelter so effects are actually worse, and our bedroom faces W.

Lightning strike earlier seems to have fried bt home hubs talking to neighbours? @RebsAbbo are you on line? Blowing a hoolie out there tonight aswell, just about got 4g on mobile but at least elecs back on....
One of the strikes over the Wolds produced a power dip here, so obviously hit something important, by the time it was over us there was no electrical activity, last strike was over your way, but the hail was notable, the wind howled, and based on wind direction changes I think there may have been some rotation, but it was too dark to see

Just driven home through an intense down pour, thunder, lightning hailstones like marbles, temp dropped 4°c in 2 miles, white over coming into the village, that was crazy
Just having the same here, white over now, and blowing hard again. Looking at radar now moving out to sea.

Well first lunchtime bike ride for over a week, snow and ice kept me off two wheels last week.
Still blowing, WSW force 6-7 once out of the village, and although 8c the wind made it feel cold, coupled with frequent blustery showers. Time ran out due to head winds, so only managed 8 miles. Its one of those days where the downhill bits into the wind were slower than the same bits uphill in the opposite direction.
A quick look round the village and no major damage, a bit of a garage is blowing in the wind a few doors away, I saw pile of metaL that was a deceased TV aerial, and a fence leaning at a drunken angle, but as I said earlier we didnt get the worst of it here.

Yes wild, but we didn't get the worst of it here, even although we lost power around the same time as @Wold Topper. SW is not the worst direction locally, Storm Barbet, easterly, was far worse here. Even a few miles up the coast Filey got a battering. Bridlington was gusting 59mph just before midnight, I suspect we had a few mph more due to elevation. Will have a look outside when its light, but only obvious casualty is a 'for sale board' opposite, nowhere to be seen now.

Woke up to snow showers here. Only a covering but looking at radar they are running down the coast, much like earlier in the week

Definitely snowing in Goathland on the NY Moors, as per station webcam
Also snowing at Grosmont which is around 70m lower, and a few flurries here at the coast.

Can see the clouds from Carnaby but they keeps missing us and drift back out to sea
Yes they are just clipping our little 'nose' of land, then running down the coast and hitting NE Norfolk, with nothing on land between the two.

Snow showers here this morning, not much more than a covering so far, and given wind direction they are just clipping the coast and not getting more than a few miles inland. Bitterly cold, but sunny between the showers.

Snow showers now at the coast arfter the earlier graupel and rain, not quite cold enough to settle, but whipped by a strong NW wind its certainly quite unpleasant out. Here forecast for tomorrow morning is more showers, could be quite tricky, but given wind direction they are not getting far inland.

No rain today so far, in spite of 90% cloud cover. Fields and roads starting to dry out now, the chalk Wolds drain and dry quickly once the rain stops.
A cold NE wind, force 5-6 made lunchtime bike ride quite a slog. Temps 3c, unchanged all day. A few breaks in the cloud, but generally dull.
Too warm for snow here.
The gaps in the clouds showed some nice crepuscular rays at lunchtime

No rain today, so far... Cold but light winds, 3c first thing this morning 4c now, very little diurnal range. The coming week looks cold, but not cold enough for snow at our elevation near the coast.

After some early drizzle no more rain, but raw and cold, 5c, but not snow cold. Hopefully we will have a longer dry spell which will allow the various floods to recede.

Another dry day here so far, and one or two of the large 'ponds' are showing signs of reducing. Hopefully the dry spell will continue, but forecast is showing more rain overnight with an easterly setting in by the morning.
Lunchtime brought SW winds force 3-4, temps at 8c and long sunny intervals, although its clouded over a bit now

Not raining today, a plus. Winds light, W force 1-2 at lunchtime, and cloudy. Temps 8c.
The water from this wet spell has left numerous spots inundated, field furrows are full of water and every ride out brings more mud back on clothes and bike. Here is one new 'pond', there is often standing water at this point, but never on this scale. Bear in mind we are on the chalk here, which tends to drain very quickly with very little or no open water under normal conditions.

Lunchtime today has brought fog and dampness. Couldn't see the windsock at Grindale airfield but guess would be Force 3-4 SSE winds. Feels cold at 7c. All over featureless grey. A better day for cycling in spite of the grimness.
The horse shelter has been returned to its proper place, and seems none the worse for its airborne journey. Various bits of minor damage around the village, ridge tiles off etc. I think we had some pretty bad gusts locally, as I said up the thread Brid got 59mph but I think that was exceeded by a fair margin here. Not sure what happened, some local effect I assume. It was dark and nothing to see.
