It's quite extraordinary. We'ew in the lee of Beachy Head here, and the storm is actually politely going round it! So Marie is getting a bit in Brighton, and Newhaven and Seaford may well get something but, even though the DP is just below zero and thus the gun is cocked and ready to go, we aren't getting a race here!
Nothing in Brighton I’m afraid

Looks snowy here but nothing falling , can see the snow out at sea so close I can almost touch it , gutted

Met office app for my area now forecasting light snow all day tomorrow.
First time it has shown this on the 1900 update.
Evening models definitely upgrading the risk, the ones met office pay attention to anyway.
Just checked it for me , but showing nothing , just cloudy

When I left for work this morning it was -4.5 , it is now currently 3.6 thought it was going to be colder if I’m honest

It’s NOT going to happen, unless you’re in Brighton then there’s a chance. The only chance for anything further north is from the decaying front sinking south tomorrow morning. Just how much moisture is available from this is unclear, but would only be a dusting if anything. Good luck to all but give up on the front being further north. Just look at the PPN already being shunted eastward, the front will follow suite when it hits the northerly. If by some miracle it does snow tommorow. I’ll take it back, but I think you’re holding on to false hope. Even if it does scrape the southcoast, it will be slush on immediate coasts, and only a few CM’s inland. Most likely to stay in northern France or the channel.
I’m in Brighton keeping the faith

Just popped over to the southwest thread and they are all saying the winds are not bad , I thought it would have been in full swing in the west by now ?
-
Windy here but no more than it was at 5am , what time are the strongest winds expected ?
-
Thought we were due rain beforehand ? Very dry here and can hear the roar in the distance , the sound is eerie and reminding me of 87

eerily calm out there tonight. even my windtunnel of a street coming off the thames has no movement in the trees. currently 8.5C and 999mb
bit like snow watching the lamp post, waiting for the winds to pick up
Yes I just said the same thing to my daughter , it’s very calm , even the birds were still singing at 8.30pm , very Eerie out there . I’m slightly concerned now if I’m honest , I think this storm is going to be a whopper

I remember the storm of 87 , it was very frightening , we lost our garage roof , guttering fell through our front room window . I couldn’t believe the devastation the following day . Are we comparing this storm to the storm of 87 ? I really hope we aren’t expecting the same .Stay safe everyone
