It's quite extraordinary. We'ew in the lee of Beachy Head here, and the storm is actually politely going round it! So Marie is getting a bit in Brighton, and Newhaven and Seaford may  well get something but, even though the DP is just below zero and thus the gun is cocked and ready to go, we aren't getting a race here!

    Nothing in Brighton I’m afraid

It’s NOT going to happen, unless you’re in Brighton then there’s a chance. The only chance for anything further north is from the decaying front sinking south tomorrow morning. Just how much moisture is available from this is unclear, but would only be a dusting if anything. Good luck to all but give up on the front being further north. Just look at the PPN already being shunted eastward, the front will follow suite when it hits the northerly. If by some miracle it does snow tommorow. I’ll take it back, but I think you’re holding on to false hope. Even if it does scrape the southcoast, it will be slush on immediate coasts, and only a few CM’s inland. Most likely to stay in northern France or the channel.

I’m in Brighton 😀 keeping the faith 🤣

eerily calm out there tonight. even my windtunnel of a street coming off the thames has no movement in the trees. currently 8.5C and 999mb

bit like snow watching the lamp post, waiting for the winds to pick up

Yes I just said the same thing to my daughter , it’s very calm , even the birds were still singing at 8.30pm , very Eerie out there . I’m slightly concerned now if I’m honest , I think this storm is going to be a whopper
