Once that wind switches to ENE it should bring a lot more places further west into the action
When are the winds due to switch please ?

Perhaps later, unfortunately we’ve been stuck right on the edge of the first band of snow for hours now. Not that it’s cold enough right now to lay anyway, got a friend in Eastbourne who says it’s been pelting with snow at times mixed with sleet when it gets lighter and nothing aside from slush on cars and roofs
Ok thanks

I’m still waiting , not going to lie feel sad as was hoping to wake up to a winter wonderland , but hey that’s weather for you !! I’m laying in bed and it’s sounding windier out there .I hope we still have a chance for some snow but I’m not optimistic now . Good luck to those that are getting snow , enjoy

No worries Marie. The low pressure curvature should have sent the colder air around the back end first and you are confirming this.
will take your word for it I haven’t got a clue lol .Going to get a couple hours sleep as it’s still not ready to lay yet, hopefully a couple more hours of dropping temps & dewpoint will make a difference

This shows how the curve of colder air undercuts those to your east. What’s you temp Marie and dp if you have it?
Sorry I don’t have it , my weather station is broken , it’s still very sloppy snow but god it feels cold out there and the wind is notable now

Blimey. Just rain here but I know the low pressure will have a curved cold undercut. Whereabouts are you Marie? Higher up?
I’m in mile oak , portslade , it’s still wet snow but never the less it’s snow

Sorry to hear that. My mum had the vaccine a few days ago which knocked her for six.
Personally I would get some rest as this cold spell will continue for at least 7 days if not longer.
Thank you , yes it’s been a rough night , feel like I have flu. But hey better than covid . Thanks for your answer , might poP my head out curtains later tonight and see what’s happening

would be happy to see falling snow though, and if it's all that happens i would be happy. Lets see eh? but fingers crossed for the far south coast that it gets into the action for the coming days.
Yep I just want to see falling snow and I will be happy , don’t get me wrong if it wants to dump 4 inches then fine I just don’t want to be greedy
