  1. Yep heating on here. Generally it's off permanently June-August but too damp and chilly at the moment. I have it on a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours at night but I do have the thermostat turned right down to 45c. House temp ranges from 20-23c. If it gets above that I turn the thermostat down even more as it's too uncomfortable above that.
  2. We had a torrential shower at 12pm. Temp hovering around the 10C mark. Then as soon as the rain stopped we had sunshine. So much so that the rain water was evaporating off the roads and pavements. Temp currently 14C and cloudy.
  3. The sun is currently trying to force itself out so hopefully we will end up with a pleasant sunny end to the day. Temp has crept up to 20.7C now also.
  4. Cloudy all day. Temp has crept up to 19.7C. Pressure steady at 1048.5 hpa
  5. Anyone home? Breezy, cloudy day here In Preston. Temps on the climb though. Reached 17.5C this afternoon.

  7. It's been cloudy with a light breeze for most of the day but the temperature has been steadily rising. Currently 17.6C.
  8. Upgrades. Sadly not for those of us south of the region: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_warnings.html?day=2
  9. Current temp 5.2C Dewpoint 1.1C Impressive band of precipitation moving in. I don't think many places will manage to avoid that tonight. Good luck to those of you on higher ground.
  10. The temperature has dropped substantially since this morning. Dropping at a rate of -1.0Chr. Currently 7.3C. Barometer rising very rapidly.
  11. This rain sure is persistent. It literally hasn't let up for the past 2 days has it. Coming up for about 30mm in the past 48hours. Lots of flooding around here. How's everyone else doing?
  12. I think pretty much the whole of the North West is under a huge swathe of yellow and orange.
  13. Same here. Very windy last night but not as bad as the previous night. It has been raining for much of the night and is still continuing to do so.
  14. Hey, wind really picking up. Not currently raining at the moment. My weather station is in a fairly sheltered position surrounded by houses so I never get a truly accurate wind speed. During the gales in November I recorded my highest gust of 36mph but out in the open it was actually double that. I'm getting gusts of around 20mph currently so it's more like 35-40mph.
  15. Nowhere near as bad as that here. Had just 12.6mm since midnight last night.
  16. I don't remember seeing the severe flash warning on the Meto website for Cumbria when I looked earlier. Flash warning is for heavy rain tonight into tomorrow morning, however it does also mention gale force winds with gusts up to 65mph.
  17. Barometer now falling very rapidly. Currently 1022.4 hPa, trend -2 hPa/hr Gusts getting up to 20mph.
  18. Big band of rain moving in. Wind picking up and barometer falling quickly. Think I best get the dogs walked now instead of later.
