Its the Keighley Snow shield Just go up on the hills they are plastered. We aren't that far from you and we have had none stop snow now since (at a guess) 4 am. Depth is unknown as I am not going out in it till morning, but is past 10cm's. Given the signs (and the METO) indicate this going to go till at least the crack of dawn there's going to be at least the 20 cm's as predicted.
Looking at the radar there's got to be some places in South Sheffield that will be getting a massive total of snow, as seems to be constant 'heavy' intensity there.
Yep mate, your right. Very squally small flakes intensely falling. Just up the road at ringinglow and Lodge moor will be hammered. The trees look so weighed down that they are going to fall over here.

Bah someone turned the Sheffield shield on early. Must be testing it for summer anyway it did a great job. Put s89en in the extra radar and you'll see what I mean.
Had plenty of light snow in Ecclesall this morning. non stop till midday then half an hour of heavier stuff which left a dusting.

These were taken about 2 hours ago and measured 12cm and counting in South East Sheffield.
Only 100 meters above sea level.
Beats the 1 - 4cm some were expecting for Sheffield.
