Looking at the radar the more intense echoes certainly look to be further east than forecast!
We will be in the 'zone' for many many hours yet to come. The lighter persistent stuff we are currently getting will build up, however I reckon we could well be in for some much heavier snow later on.
Drifting is already becoming apparent even with this lighter stuff, imagine where we will be if it peps up!
and with us being quite far north I don't see any chance of freezing rain or the like
We have drifts in our garden of 18” and the patio is clear where the snow is just blowing off the polished slabs.

Send it up North to us then - I will gladly take another tonking - wish we could just have this as our normal climate - all the year round!!!
And our defender took a dislike to clutch oil today so I had to drive clutchless in a car with a flywheel made of lead so ruddy hard to rev match :-(
happy days tomorrow and the weekend. Trail run and sledging with the kiddiewinkles.

Just drove back from Reading way to Bassett and between Newbury to just as you drop over the downs there was snow settled on the hard shoulder and the countryside was white. Back in Bassett and it’s like a different day!

Forgot one vital thing to add to all your shopping lists - the best stealth weapon ever invented. Scoop through deep snow and fling, it sends snow balls flying a long way, fantastic for catching out unsuspecting folk and definitely gives you the edge in a snowball fight. Also great fun for confusing the hell out of dogs....spend ages running round trying to find the disappearing balls.

Glad it’s not just me.
She had a such a confused face. The poor old girl couldn’t find the ball.
The dogs and I were laughing hard whilst the wife was erratically searching the field for a snowball.

I told my wife the vortex has split last night and things were going to become interesting. It was met with whooo its winter, it could be cold and a level of sarcasm I didn’t know she had in her. I gave up trying to explain, put the whiteboard away and went to bed. Today I got my own back and made a toilet destroying chilli :-)
