Wow that programme on BBC 2 was excellent. My family have always lived in Devon and they all love to tell me how ive never seen proper snow in this country, and after watching that I can see why. Devon and Cornwall got absolutely hammered! My parents always refer to 1963 and my grand parents refer to 1947 and 1963! My dad recalls how the snow filled up the main roads and the only way you could get around was to walk along top the hedges! The river froze so thick they drove tractors along it etc etc I wonder if we will ever see anything like that again down here? Im 27 now and im still waiting......

Morning all. First post ever for me, have been reading for a few years. My location is on the Devon / Cornwall boarder and i can happily confirm heavy snow is falling. My drive and car etc is nicely covered. Should be a good sign for members further North and East of me. At around midnight it was just light rain here, as I say heavy snow now which is settling, Gareth.
