Chilly tonight, should avoid a frost here!
-
Pretty chilly to start this morning but plenty of blue sky :)
-
Felt pretty cold in the wind today but glad the days are getting longer at last!
-
Pretty windy at the moment, not much rain overnight!
-
Pretty icy out there tonight and some fog starting to develop.
-
Looks like a wet night for our area

Lovely blue skies this morning, going to be a good one

High of 23.1C this afternoon, didn't feel too bad.
Weekend looking a bit soggy!
-
Finally some active weather, going to be a blowy 24-36 hours

This is brilliant. Under a red blob on the radar, -3C and it's a winter wonderland. Heaviest snow so far from the cold spell.
Going to make the most of tonight, as it could be the last snow of the winter!

Woken up to heavy snow falling, and a rough estimate 4 cm fallen overnight.
Looks like the streamer will continue for some time

Last post from me, bed calling...
00z UKV increases snow distribution again Monday evening with a large chunk moving south through East Anglia into Kent around 8PM. Then for good measure it sets-up a Thames streamer from midnight until early morning on Tuesday - similar to FAX charts and latest Met Office guidance statement.
That's after anything that happens during daytime Monday

Just got off the phone with the duty forecaster in Exeter. Slight delay with the colder air, but snow for the Amber zone still expected.
No bust... yet!

Last few radar frames show a notable NW shift and the heavier area of precip expanding.

Sub-zero temperatures now put back to 08:00 on the Met Office site. Was 1AM, then 3AM, then 6AM, now 8AM. Not a good trend!

Good to see you posting here Darren

Come on guys, don't get disheartened yet!
I posted around 9PM saying a downgrade for tonight was on the way. Temperatures/dew-points for widespread snow has been pushed back to 06:00 now (two hours away). As per recently issued Met forecasts, snow will push inland and become persistent later this morning and last through the afternoon, overnight and into Monday.
I make no promises for the west of the region, but see no reason whatsoever why eastern parts will miss out.

Have u got a chart please When I hear people say its fine for Kent I automatically think of the Downs/Medway eastwards as I said before its harder to.get snow to Dartford/Gravesend as A NEly means the snow dies out over Essex before reaching these parts of Kent but most other places in "Kent" are fine
Pretty much the same areas as the Amber warning. For my location a ENE is much better than a NE. Initially the streamers will set-up on NE, then turn more ENE by Tuesday but 'snow easing' by then according to Exeter.
I think most of Kent will do well, but obviously the Downs could hit the jackpot this time around.

Not overly impressed with the 00Z UKV, seems to keep pushing the heavier snow back further and further - fine for Kent though!
Monday now the day for the most widespread snow?

Here is the new run in full. That's a lot further east that previously with the heavier snow pushed to tomorrow night and Monday.
Harmonie still the best option for our region.
