A large hail shower just passed to my north and gave me a little bit, There were signs of rotation, Mostly fractus. Large Cumilonimbus starting to form here at an increasingly rapid rate, I think there is a good chance of some areas including mine seeing some thunderstorms this afternoon.

I think you may be right about the thunderstorms there ste, Activity starting to happen here now, Large Cumilonimbus forming, a shower cloud just passed to my north and clipped my location bringing hail and sleet.

A thunderstorm would sure be nice, Currently sunny and about 8 celcius here, Pretty nice day actually.

They said there could be snow on some of the higher reigions in devon yes.

Bugger all is what it is doing here today, There has been a bit of drizzlyness and its cold, But thats about it, The sky is painted grey here aswell.

Looks like it may have snowed here earlier, But I'm game for being a lazy ba***rd and didnt get up early enough to see anything.

Thats what it was doing earlier here, It looked more like rain to me with maybee snow mixed in but it was that difficult to see that I didnt think anything of it.

Am I the only person who hasnt seen any today :cry: :cry:

After a very cold and frosty night it is sunny out with increasing haze and precipitation out to the west, Hopefully snow will be a good possibillity today, Only time will tell. Got the heating on here and the place is still feeling cold.

Snowfall @ Darwen Lancashire, West Pennines. Just had some very light snowfall here in darwen, I only noticed it when I got up to go get a coffie and saw it drifting past, Its stopped now and I can see white fall streaks dropping out of nearby shower clouds that I can see. Just thought I would let you know.

Big storm last night, Like ste said, Lots of hail sleet rain and very high winds. Been nice today though sun blue skyes and the occasional bit of cirrus and other high clouds about.

Had hail and sleet here aswell today.

Very nice day here to, That area of rain to the south looks fairly heavy, So once it arrives over the south it looks like you will get a hell of a soaking. Good news for all of you farmers and gardeners out there. Welcome to the boards Bagpuss.

Yes a very different feel to things today, Feels a lot like autmn but in a good way, Nice and sunny with cloudless skys and a very fresh feel. As I have said in anouther thread, It is amazing the transition from 38 degrees celcius to autmn and snowfalls on high levels all in the space of 6 weeks. But as WF also said this does not mean we are in for a really cold snowy winter as of right now, This is the way autmn is one day can be cold and sunny wheras the next can be very warm and sunny and one day can be heavy rain with floodings and tornadoes waterspouts etc etc, Whereas the next day can be like today, Sunny and dry. That is the typical autmn pattern.

Lo, A,G Welcome to the forums, There has been some tornadoes reported from this front. Looks like it did indeed intinsify as it moved south. the rainfall where I live up here in the north west has not been that intense, Except for some which I observed this morning, Visibillity turned very low as a result.

There is signs of a front nearby, By looking out of my window that is. But theres no rain or high winds.

BIG Showers here all day. The ground and everything starts steaming off in to thermals when they pass and the sun comes back out, Not something I see everyday. Maybee I'll see a storm before the days out :!: :o

Thats Prpbably lens flare or something. I could not see mars last night though I have done on recent nights.
