wow wasn't expecting this sort of intensity at all
garden almost back white now
-
9 on the Murr Scale here in this part of Chelmsford now
-
Lovely stuff, growing intensity and falling horizontally. Sorry Paul, mid Essex is the place to be!!!!
yes its going for it now lovely stuff
-
sticking on grass now - (those areas that had melted)
heaviest snow all week
not quite cold enough for it to easily settle though
-
to my surprise the snow is beginning to stick (as heavy enough now) to pavements that were cleared
-
medium to heavyier snow in Chelmsford now
definately snow as some is going sideways, some back upwards- only really snow does that
-
Interesting.......
yup still snowing here in chelmsford quite wet snow - but definately snow not sleet
-
snow - chelmsford - 60m ASL
-
oooh - wash yourself afterwards !
-
just gets heavier and heavier
proper snow now
-
looking at radar looks set to get even heavier for Essex for a while yet
another 2 inches in her yet I guess ?
-
earlier footprints from only 1 hour ago - beginning to disappear
not easing up - getting heavier if anything
-
heaviest snow of day atm
-
very strange effect atm
must be grain size and/or state of melt or not
as our fresh snow now has a layer with intermingled very bright "twinkling" snow
bright enough to look like they are actual fairy-lights
not seen that before
-
just been sledging out with our kids - great fun so can't complain
heaviest snow of all day atm
-
Okay look to Norwich... See the 850 Wind vectors are due East.. The front is hitting it and being pushed East.. It can't get past there like a block... Now we need to focus on France Germany Border.. As that stuff is now leaving there and heading for us.. If this eastrly wind can stick it out we could get some nice falls from this... Tottaly going against any models and forcasts this low...
front being pushed east on Easterly wind vectors ? I hope not
-
seems earlier than I thought the snow would arrive ?
-
fine snow here in Essex
but it is sticking - so can't complain
better than Friday so far anyway

2-6cm predicted for Heathrow ? come-off it?
-
When looking t the radar earlier the front looked tome like it was heading towards the Netherlands however hopefully the wind will hop to steer it in a more SE- NW trajectory.
Fax below for 12z Sunday supports this:
thats good

the loop doesn't fill me much confidence unless it pivots ?
that looks like NNE direction to me - is that our snow fortomorrow ? or a different system ?
-
not much difference ? I'd reckon a shift of 40-50 miles east would make the difference of 0.25 of an inch and 5 inches ..
-
wishful thinking I fear
I'd say 60:40 that 18z will shift it further east
-
look forward to another 6 hours of dandruft amounting to nothing tomorrow
who'd have guess the low would shift east - they always do ....
whether its storms of snow - east they go ...
