Devon Moors

Today was one of those incredibly rare magical moments when you draw the curtains on a normal day (expecting yet more rain) only to find everything is bright white. My 8 year daughter has been waiting all winter for some snow, and then this happens at the end of March! She actually cried with joy.

That’s incredible festivalking! I can clearly see Dartmoor from just outside my village, this side of Exmoor on the Two Moors Way. To think you can have 8c difference in the same county and from Dartmoor to Exmoor. Fascinating. I know you are the other side of Dartmoor from me - is there some kind of Fohn effect going on there today?

Amazing how wrong a short term forecast can be.. met office showed max of +9 for this afternoon first thing today here in North Devon .. just been out and it’s bitter. Strong wind and only 1.1c. Been raining since 9am but not much is melting! FullSizeRender.MOV

Snowing up here since 9am, even had thunder snow and blizzard like conditions for a while! 10 miles down the road in Tiverton it’s all rain according to the mum in law. IMG_0519.MOV
