  1. Winds really picking up again here after a couple of hours of being fairly calm, and really heavy rain. Some big branches down and some broken but still hanging on- too dangerous to be out on the grounds in the campsite, luckily no trees down on caravans. It's gonna take a good few days of sawing and clearing up to get back anywhere near normal. The river Teith is not far from breaching it's banks either..
  2. Big branches coming down off trees, and peoples caravan awnings are in tatters here in Callander- was dead calm then 1st big gust and 2 large branches came down around me so we're staying well clear. Phone signal was off for a bit and no tv reception either. Could be an interesting afternoon....
  3. We were pretty much cut off this morning, even 4x4's were of no use. Wind has been relentless off the sea, and blowing the snow straight back if it's cleared.
  4. Intense snow and howling wind for the past hour, much worse than yesterday. Mad.
  5. Yup, forked lightning between Wemyss and Buckhaven. Jumped oot ma skin!
  6. I'm working out an indoor snawfall rate gauge here. If the light on the big wind turbine disappears its snowing. If the lights at the timber yard disappear,it's snowing heavy. If the lampposts disappear it's a blizzard, and if the window goes white it's DEFCON 1.2
  7. My window looks East over Largo Law and beyond... INCOMING
  8. It's amazing how quickly the temperature has just dropped off. Have been working outside this afternoon, and since 1PM it's gone from being pleasant to absolutely Baltic.
  9. Just been up to the car park at East Lomond in the van- really strange, temp was -1.5 and deep snow, but it's -4 here in East Wemyss by the sea..?
  10. Thanks! We don't tend to do campsites, just wild camp.. It's only a small van (Vito) but it has an Eberspacher diesel heater so always toasty off grid. Always wanted to camp out in Glencoe, Got the maps out now and I'm leaning towards Snowdonia.
  11. Going away for New Year in the campervan- where would be a good bet to see snow, but not TOO far away from civilisation? Was thinking North Wales but open to suggestions..
  12. Beautiful evening down in Eyemouth last night, warm and still. Again this morning, warm and still- 25 degrees coming up past Coldstream this afternoon, and back to Fife...17 and windy. Jersey on.
  13. No idea, place was really run down for a long time.. was he the Skoda enthusiast? No white stuff, and in fact no rain to speak of this whole month.
  14. 'twas this morning when I passed! Was closed for a while but now under new ownership.
  15. Mad blustery freezing wind came from nowhere about an hour ago, spoiling a pleasant morning in the garden, now trampolines flying everywhere..
  16. Just in at4am, roads here are seriously icy, even main roads. Not seen a gritter anywhere. Take care folks.
  17. Largo law is still white on it's North side, but the white stuff is disappearing quite quickly, was totally white yesterday evening.
