Yeah, Yorkshire/Peak District look to be getting a battering. The depth of the precipitation though is encouraging, and I'd only be concerned the track hasn't changed by 9pm. Based on the forecasts, I'd say we are still in for a good few hours of heavy snow between 10pm and 1 am or so... that seems to be what most of the charts are saying. Fingers crossed!

I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet... I think the direction is forecast to pivot later in the evening. MetO haven't forecasted the heavy stuff for Leicester until later tonight, towards midnight. Plenty of time yet....

First chart is for the next 18 hours for precipitation in mm accumulated.... Second is snow accumulations over the next 15 hours. Should be taken with a pinch of salt, as not always entirely accurate. At this timeframe though, it's a fairly good guide as to what to expect!

I was thinking this too. We didn't get anywhere near the forecasted lows for last night... -5 was forecast, didn't get below -1.5 here... Met Office do keep temps in the region of 0 to 1 degrees throughout the rest of the day though!

Need those dew points to stay low, and hope the cold air temps will work in our favour I guess!

Yeah, although wouldn't be surprised if Loughborough has another shocker. Seems like places just to the south (Leicester) have faired much better in terms of snow depths! Latest GFS going for an all rain event...
