Hi All - long time lurker but thought you would be interested to know I witnessed a tornado yesterday near Princes Risborough Bucks. I could see rotation at the base of an approaching cell and then all hell let loose. I could feel the wind rush through the house which was quite bizarre and alarming, and could also see debris and some unfortunate birds swirling around in the column of air. No damage to the house but the garden was a bit of a mess. Some damage in the local area, mainly to farm buildings. The pictures are of a mature horse chestnut tree that was growing in what remains of the fenced enclosure. It was snapped off below ground and dumped 30+ meters away in different directions. Any ideas what windspeed would be required to do that?
