  1. Know the feeling eveninessex, a late quite and unexpected torrential shower appeared from the southwest direction, dumped its rain for half an hour and went away without a single clap of thunder though a very decnt rainbow hardly moving but my mw station on the car radio started to pick up crackling as it had gone

My advice keep well away from Midlands/Staffs if you are stormchasing..theirs more chance of winning the lottery :!: So far...

Storms so far=half of one at a push.

  2. A darkening c mass to my north/northwest but i doubt it will produce much mostly low cloud, sun may burn through later at a push :!: .

I have had to shut windows as it feels distinctly chilly and to be honest looks absolutely awful and if not autumnal

Summer it seems wants to hide away :-x COMEE BAACKKK.....

  3. A flash of lightning, ominous looking sky to to my south/west and probably the slowest moving cloud/storm or whatever it will produce  i have seen it has literally been there an eternity it seems but coming this way :)

Well hardly a storm  but first bit of lightning in this neck of the woods for a fair while.(added 23.40pm).

  4. Heaviest rain shower in a long time very slow moving seemed to develop right above, little wind to shift it.

Hasent to add no thunder here although reports elsewhere AGAIN :-x Looks v.dark north/n.e and n.w. quite humid and sultry feel to things ,sun is a shining again :) though the gardens are revelling in the wateriness

  5. Somethings going up again today i reckon.

    B'ham airport metar...view towering cumulus sc 2800 brk 4000

    wind variable 9kt temp 14c dew 9c 1019mb.

Some quite distinctive quite well established cbs around a v.large spot of rain indicates the potential of ME seeing just one measly storm pleaseee...

Sunny intervals and less blowy than yesterday..an all or nothing day again :(

  6. The green circle indicates where the software on the detector thinks that there is almost definitely a storm.

Cheers for that WF i had thoughts on similar lines but now it is confirmed.

Just to add, despite sferics looking v. close to me i did not get any thunder at all :-x everything is bypassing this particular area and its daarn annoying..not one single proper storm yet :?

  7. sferics gone a bit mad south midlands/and southwards or am i seeing things :?: what does a green circle usuallly indicate(sferic map) or is it an area of developing storms :?: Scattered dark clouds/cb's are certainly building but no action yet.

  8. Very close but no cigar today..last minute blackcloud and moderate rain only passed mostly to the south then another half an hour later to the west..no thunder heard..same old story here afraid to :-x say

They always seem to bypass us...

  9. sferics seemed to go slightly manic over the east yesterday eve'...surprise surprise...

Looks like end of week may hold some potential thundery showers for some, the east probably fairing best JUST for a change :):)

I mean what happend to those summer storms usually associated with the Spanish plume that hit at some ridiculous time in the early morning (i recall several 8am whilst getting ready to school storms whooooo)(going back a bit|!)dumping silly rainfall amounts and some cracking thunder/lightning to boot.

A pretty rare sight nowadays and by June we'd certainly have a taster of this.. :?:

  10. It’s a shame it was not the pier with all the arcades on it, what a bloody eye sore that is, was expecting a dance hall and some nice restaurants not a bunch of thugs making a fast buck and running it into the ground or should that be sea.   :(

Now I digress, I never realised the Brighton had the only under sea railway line in the world thanks to the Victorians

No excuse about leaves or the wrong sort of snow/ice there then  :!:

    Adi

Yes i am sure they could think of something mate..wrong type of bat on the line erm, train drivers scared of the dark the list goes on
