  1. Know the feeling eveninessex, a late quite and unexpected torrential shower appeared from the southwest direction, dumped its rain for half an hour and went away without a single clap of thunder though a very decnt rainbow hardly moving but my mw station on the car radio started to pick up crackling as it had gone  My advice keep well away from Midlands/Staffs if you are stormchasing..theirs more chance of winning the lottery :!: So far... Storms so far=half of one at a push.
  2. Cool calm and collective. and getting darker by the minute
  3. Absolutely stunning evening great sun set and hardly a cloud in the sky. In fact quite amazing. And thank goodness for central heating
  4. A darkening c mass to my north/northwest but i doubt it will produce much mostly low cloud, sun may burn through later at a push :!: . I have had to shut windows as it feels distinctly chilly and to be honest looks absolutely awful and if not autumnal  Summer it seems wants to hide away :-x COMEE BAACKKK.....
  5. Calm subdued and it actually feels warmer than earlier today!.. I hope Wittering is still on the map tommorrow ,if they have a drought this summer goodness me a whole 2inches  just today unberuddyleavable:!: same yesterday gikes...
  6. Wow sounds pretty scary no doubt a sleepless night for a few maybe  Now wheres KT.......
  7. Although temps very very dissappointing it feels quite humid at the same time,a little sun later could trigger more of those thorms and push into the Midlands about say 6pm :!: heres hoping
  8. You make meeeeee feeeeellll ..cos' youuuuu make me feeeeeell like a 'woman
  9. A flash of lightning, ominous looking sky to to my south/west and probably the slowest moving cloud/storm or whatever it will produce  i have seen it has literally been there an eternity it seems but coming this way Well hardly a storm  but first bit of lightning in this neck of the woods for a fair while.(added 23.40pm).
  10. Now looking menacingly dark to my south/west.no or very little wind 18c muggy and a quick tune of my mw wave is giving the odd crackle(must get one of those lightning detectors). Maybe our first thunder for it seems an eternity :-x Still i can wait till Wed.night...into Thursday
  11. Heaviest rain shower in a long time very slow moving seemed to develop right above, little wind to shift it. Hasent to add no thunder here although reports elsewhere AGAIN :-x Looks v.dark north/n.e and n.w. quite humid and sultry feel to things ,sun is a shining again though the gardens are revelling in the wateriness
  12. Somethings going up again today i reckon. B'ham airport metar...view towering cumulus sc 2800 brk 4000 wind variable 9kt temp 14c dew 9c 1019mb. Some quite distinctive quite well established cbs around a v.large spot of rain indicates the potential of ME seeing just one measly storm pleaseee... Sunny intervals and less blowy than yesterday..an all or nothing day again
  13. Cheers for that WF i had thoughts on similar lines but now it is confirmed. Just to add, despite sferics looking v. close to me i did not get any thunder at all :-x everything is bypassing this particular area and its daarn annoying..not one single proper storm yet :?
  14. sferics gone a bit mad south midlands/and southwards or am i seeing things :?: what does a green circle usuallly indicate(sferic map) or is it an area of developing storms :?: Scattered dark clouds/cb's are certainly building but no action yet.
  15. Well those showers certainly looked alot worse than what they actually produced...erm lets look east AGAIN :!: :-x just for a change even the two horses by me are rolling around in the grass :roll:Lovely teeth... 14.05pm the horse has bolted!!!!
  16. Agreed Tim but i am considering moving to the North Sea in the very near future  Buoy that could be interesting
  17. Things are shaping up to my west with quite impressive towering cb and rather ominous looking and developing line of heavy showers. Temps 17c,sunny intervals. Gusty wind and hopefullly some cracks of thunder as we ALMOST  got there yesterday!!!!!
  18. Looking good to my west AGAIN..developing hefty showers, darkening base.Sferics are showing W.Ireland ,Scotland's turn later no doubt..
  19. Very close but no cigar today..last minute blackcloud and moderate rain only passed mostly to the south then another half an hour later to the west..no thunder heard..same old story here afraid to :-x say They always seem to bypass us...
  20. Just had brief moderate shower, the sun is poking out again and those tops are just building and building...looking fairly good hopefully and considering the time of day
  21. sferics seemed to go slightly manic over the east yesterday eve'...surprise surprise... Looks like end of week may hold some potential thundery showers for some, the east probably fairing best JUST for a change I mean what happend to those summer storms usually associated with the Spanish plume that hit at some ridiculous time in the early morning (i recall several 8am whilst getting ready to school storms whooooo)(going back a bit|!)dumping silly rainfall amounts and some cracking thunder/lightning to boot. A pretty rare sight nowadays and by June we'd certainly have a taster of this.. :?:
  22. Pah didn't take long then Paul.... :-x :-x we had the heavy shower whoop ruddy eeee....
  23. He he.. 'stormguy' and Bromsgrove=a rumble of thunder in Bromsgrove!?AGAIN what the UK 's capital of thundery moments...i'm about 30miles +north and all i get is a rumble of my stomach if i'm lucky...... I'm moving to the Arctic..hot and sunny.
  24. Yes i am sure they could think of something mate..wrong type of bat on the line erm, train drivers scared of the dark the list goes on
