Hi all, this is turning out to be a memorable few weeks for the lucky ones, after all cold/snow is why most of us are here and boy do we have to wait... keeping a tally now of the falls as they stack up, first 2 hung around for 2-3 weeks b4 melt.

Hi all, rarely post as have no technical knowledge however am avid reader of this forum for many many years,
Always a delight to read the intelligent interpretations of model predictions, let's not forget these models are predictive tools of events not yet occurred and not to blame if they go down another route..
For me things appear more exciting for avid coldies than since 2010/2013, posted in the regionals regarding Mondays 9cm fall followed by 6cm today (stoke) this is a rarity, normally wrong side of marginal time and again, this bodes well going into jan as Uk is nearly always marginal, oh and my kiss of death, 7-10 day charts have bit of a 62/63 look to them... with a ssw to come...
How many times have we heard that you say....
Patterns normally go against our desires but every now and then we hit gold, certainly have lots of the main pieces in play, let's hope they fall kindly.
Chart attached 30/12/62 note the Eastern European high that some are bemoaning now !!

As always this forum is a great daily read and has been for me for many years (as a lurker ?)
out of interest, it seems pretty apparent that our little islands general weather pattern (long wave pattern) is set by events far afield, has there ever been an occurrence eg where a strong block sets up home to our nw/n/ne/e where this becomes a major player, a driver in the N.H. pattern or is it always as a “consequence of”
and many thanks to those who provide me with such a good read, JH, GP, Tamara, Corinthian, man with a beard, nick sussex and many more, and of course who could forget the people’s princess !! The snow blind Steve Murr, the man of eternal optimism who I must say, at 72 out with a chance of snow has us all glued to his charts and video’s, I’ve learnt over the years that snow is imminent if Steve produces a video or crayoned drawings of what is about to happen.. many thanks, dave

It's been light to moderate all night, nothing major
Like we had in January, the winds the big difference tonight, so much blowing in off fields
The airs full of it pasting the surroundings, will be terrific driving lanes tomorrow once the tractors have cleared some cuttings through drifts

I'm on Norton Heights...not that far as the crow flies...the altitude must be really helping you. We have some mini drifts...must be about 6 inches level on grass and drifts are way higher against the fences. The problem now is the snizzle falling. Its still so gusty as well. One of the showroom flag poles has lost its flag which is unusual.

Light oaks 800 ft asl, on outskirts of stoke,
Around 4 inch on top of this mornings
Some decent drifts as it blows in off
Fields, lane outside house is closed
With 3 ft blown across it !
