Back to light snow here, off to get some pics.
-
Snaw Fast falling small flakes, main road white. Its put down somewhere around 2cm since it started. Snow at the wetter end so less drifting and blowing than I would have expected for the wind strength. Looked at BBC weather this earlier which suggested maybe 24hrs of falling snow. Joy. Unfortunately just seen my 10day on the site and will be focusing on five days out is not reliable. Well except for yesterday when it looked like over 35mm of ppt was on the cards with v high snow probability. But really this morning its all about the Snaw

Got fast falling very small flakes here, not sure how long its been going but the main (A) road is going white now.
-
2009-2010 the police round Alston where issuing pleas for locals not to drive round with ft of snaw (snow it being the NE) on the car roofs.
-
About 1degC here, the occasional flake has drunkenly tumbled out the sky for most of the day. Guess they just missed their stop further E. About 3cm of snow over night, now softening. Been up at Kinlochard today, about 5cm on the higher forest roads. Softening again lower down to Aberfoyle.
-
Still snaw, still steady medium flakes, main road now white.
-
I liked the hell yes opener, if it was the same one I've just seen on BBC news channel
-
Snaw, finally the lamp is mightier than the shield - fast falling medium flakes
-
Nae nowt nothing, did go to the MT but focus seems on breakdowns rather than having them so no entertainment there.
-
Light snow from about 16:10 for 20mins, most of the showers seem to be tracking the Mentieth hills side of the carse. Looking promising grey out towards Stirling.
-
Bright, sunshine and broken cloud with very light snow now for about 20mins. A bit like shaking the last crumbs out of the clouds.
-
An overnight dusting of snow here mm. Was in Edinburgh early evening yesterday. Snowing very heavily in the city center, was wondering what the drive back would be like. Snow was light just past the Zoo and everything green at the M9 right back home. Think I'll look at the radar and see if there's anything to cheer me up. Double whammy of N Pennines not getting much either. Not what I wanted to see when cheking possibilities for Pennine skiing http://www.durham.gov.uk/pages/WeatherStationDetails.aspx?station=13

I just want to see heavy snow and drifting in the North Pennines, if Scotland doesnt get enough snaw to recharge the skiing then its time to press my Weardale ski club membership into action. -

Nae burgering about from me I've got beef with the weather this morning. Think we're going to need a smaller shield. I blame those fans all over the S. side of the central belt blowing the weather back the wrong way. Well hopefully this time the model output will be wrong in the right way.- 789 replies

The good news is there's still space for a pan dimensional ramp after that, then I think we might be stuck. -

Toys explaining models - genius. I've got very light dry snaw and according to my highly scientific silva windwatch - minus two. -

Hadnt even thought about the toys, all the pieces falling into place - maybe conspiracy rather than monopoly. Could the MT actually agree on the best to throw out of the pram? Soft toy, one large single impact event or monopoly because it would produce a good scatter. Anyway, thinking about this a little too much I'm off to inspect the outdoors. -

I thought that weather production had now been moved to the far East due to increasing costs and unreliability of supply in the west - hence the appearance of the Chinese model. In the 21st Century all weather will be controlled from there. -

Fleetering of the snaw overnight. Taking the line of jinx suppression for Friday, for now... well maybe a little for now moving to if it comes off. Too many years at the bottom of the Pennine chain in a land where it's always Christmas and never winter kind of sends you funny when proper snaw is suggested.
