  1. Can anyone remind me what the conversion is from rain mm to snow cm?
  2. Still no PPN forecast on BBC or MetO for my area overnight. NetW are saying heavy snow between 12-3am. When will we have a better idea for sure?? Currently at 1 degree, DP -0.6 and snowing moderately after a heavy burst.
  3. I'd Imagine so because my area forecast isn't snowy overnight either
  4. MetO not forecasting any snow for my area overnight yet this would go right over me. Is it expected to move through as fast as the other snow has? We've had a few flurries since the dumping at lunchtime. Main roads now clear, side roads and pavements still tricky. Was just thinking how nice it is to be 4.30pm and still light outside! Gorgeous blue sky here at the moment.
  5. Blimey! Giant snowflakes, in the past 20 minutes or so we've had over an inch fall. Even the main roads are covered Our school is still open dreading the school run later!
  6. Really coming down heavy now after a short break!
  7. Woke to a few cm's lying, a few heavy snow showers since then a little break. Now its really coming down again. MetO reckons 5 hours of heavy snow today with light snow in between. We're at 1.9 degrees, DP -0.5 and falling.
  8. MetO now forecasting heavy snow for me tonight. Nice bunch of showers moving in from the NW. Currently at 1.9 degrees, DP -2.9.
  9. I've been refreshing the meto forecast all day and we wasn't forecast snow before late this evening. In the past 40 minutes we've had really heavy snow, giving about a 2cm covering. Don't give up hope already!!
  10. Blimey this snow is coming down in sheets with the wind. Looks so pretty though lying on the ground - like a dusting of flour
  11. It's certainly breezy enough lol! Wrong direction though, you should get it before us!
  12. 9.33am it was 8.9 degrees here, 9.53am it was 4.8 degrees. I assume that means the front is moving through lol! Horizontal rain and gusty winds at the moment
  13. MetO have upgraded my area forecast overnight, now looking like snow for most of tomorrow. Heavy at times too.
  14. Light snow 6-10pm apparently (MetO) it stopped snowing around 3.30pm here so we had a good 6 hours of falling snow today, though not accumulating to much it was nice to see it falling. We still have around 6/7cm of lying snow from overnight.
  15. Its not stopped snowing since 9.30am here, some heavy, some light, but still constant snow.
  16. New MetO warnings out for the North Midlands for snow and ice up to tomorrow lunchtime.
  17. Really heavy snow here now giant flakes. Complete fresh layer on top of the earlier snow
