The clues are right the way through the thread, Thursday and Friday now a none event in the main, fully expecting the following 7 days to be an equal none event. The truth lays between the models, the information missed in the main due to snow blindness.

At present it looks like the colder air to our East will, after a slight nudge Eastward, then push back West once more.
But it wont.

Been snowing in Yeovil none stop since 3pm, still going now, easily 10cm or more on the deck. Took 5 hours to get from Fordingbridge to Yeovil this afternoon/evening.

Expert analysis, computer models showing run after run of snow, experienced meteorologists opinions and the very clever people on NW who rarely (if ever) let me down with their excellent knowledge.
That's all!
The 80 year old that feeds the birds every day and takes note of their actions will be as informed if not better than the current computer. People seem to forget that once upon a time there was no computer, no meteorologists, no access to this type of info full stop yet today everybody get's so wrapped up in what is at best one man's guess.

You still here? Nothing I've read from you makes any sense. Just unfounded moans and groans about a backtrack that has neither happened yet nor been forecast to.
What are you reading?
-
Can I ask how much experience you both have at forecasting/model watching please?
I count myself as a rank amateur even though I have been following all of this weather forecasting shenanigans for a couple of years, yet I am certainly not seeing what you 2 are seeing. Quite the opposite.
What are you seeing? A computers best guess.

2cm for lowland Somerset. i hope not!
like i said earlier, way over ramped, slight dusting for somerset, dorset, east devon and nil for cornwall. MO over egg's the pudding due to it's leaning to elf and safety, they give out orange warning's these day's for a frost just in case they get sued. expect downgrade by lunch time thursday.

Don't wory it is normaly just a time thing, they are on a tight time schedule sometimes and can't go into days and week ahead always
I understand the time issue but the thing is "Friday" IS the news for this region wouldn't you say?
-
No!
Because they use data from earlier runs on the both the regional and national news, plus Ian doesn't always have time to adjust things as the latest info has just been released to him. The general public don't need to be alarmed unduly...
So why has he mentioned Friday in every other news slot since Monday but not tonight?
-
Ian's forecast just now - only mentioned to thursday pm.
Matt Taylor - national - still using meto stuff from earlier today. Seemed a bit outdated to me, seeing latest model runs this eve.
Because there's a backtrack coming ?

Again, doesn't sound great IMBY... Ah well, lets hope for some change! Anyway, I need sleep, night guys!
This is what i meant, the area's i mention will see snow but very very little and nothing after Friday late PM, why? hunch, models, snipits on here and the wildlife
-
I can't help but feel disappointed by the latest charts from an IMBY perspective...
Said for a while now nothing in this for Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and South / West Somerset.
-
What are you basing this statement on?
Reading between the lines of the models and picking bit's out of tonight's post's
-
cant see much in this for south somerset, devon, cornwall or dorset.

Just keep watching how many times the word downgrade appears on the model thread starting Saturday lunch time.
