  1. I don't think the models can make up there mind wether its a 1 or 2 day warm/hot plume or a few days more. the lows need to dive down a little sooner than they do to get a good southerly flow up from iberia, where only getting glancing blows from the heat while France gets it full on blow torch!..typical tease for this damn island.
  2. our local weatherspoons does the real ale very cheap at 2-46 a pint and has a very good stock of them too. most other pubs round the city have a price range for real ale at 3-50 to 4.50 so cant grumble..right back on topic been a beauty of a day here 26C tops with just a few clouds dotted about, would like more tomorrow but we know whats coming..back to the cloud fest..roll on saturday and beer time!
  3. normal in a t-shirt walking in the rain getting drowned!!..i'd say its a look at me thing and i dont care attitude.
  4. well i'm sure its not healthy being covered up in even mid 70's temperatures and its usually black what they have got on as well..i think thats relevant to the post your refering to? in any case whats paris got to do with here if you want to have a go at my post?
  5. Tell that to 3 shift workers or even 2 shifts...not a chance of a social life!!!..glad i got out of that rat trap many years ago..i have a great life balance now working for myself.
  6. Yes that would be the cold california current responsible for the rather coolish conditions..i took a holiday in california in late august of 1991 and most of inland cally was mid 80's but coastal areas from say Los Angeles to San Diego was high teens low 70's..only the santa ana wind from the desert heats the coasts up..a lot of the time california coastal regions can be cool and dull.
  7. I was getting bladdered at that age (18) every weekend, and p****d on from above!
  8. We all know a lot about climate...ours is pants!!!
  9. Becoming the new South of France?..Northern France wouldn't be bad..we have a vile climate full stop and nothing will change!
  10. Yes exactly about the temperature contrast..its actually not helping the UK at all. We were dealt a bad deal when this planet was formed, dumped in the wrong place..of all the areas on the planet and we had to be formed where we are!!..why did we deserve this crap forsaken location!!
  11. Until this jetstream moves or gets weaker its more of the same i think. Eventually all this green grot around the polar areas will become stronger and start to dominate the northern hemisphere as summer slowly slips away, that is the price we pay for being at our latitude and mostly the reason we get indifferent summers... Like i said above if this jestream dont move north or get weaker August will be no different, ive seen this happen before, summer just fizzles into wet dross!!..hope i'm wrong..i have to work in it and its no fun!!
  12. ands the biggest k***s of all..politicians!!..lol
  13. i hope this infill cloud dont ruin the sunshine here in the east midlands, theres some pop up cloud of to the northwest of here and its forming overhead now..fingers crossed it does one!!
  14. Its working for the BBC for the years he did, enough to make anyone like that..lol they get a lot more time with their forcasts when its not in the mainstream media, can explain the situation a lot more without rushing it because of the time limit they have on air.
  15. yes and it wouldn't be splattered all over the news either!..daily mail being one of them.
  16. Be careful with the clear blue sky bit, this country is a magnet for cloud, seen many a forcast for sunny days fail.
  17. For all the doomongers saying summer is over, ive made a song up to the tune of justin haywards "Forever Autumn" The summer sun is fading as the trough takes hold, and cloudy days are outside here! Cheer up people
  18. I was in my mid teens in the 76 heatwave running around in shorts with no t-shirt on, it was great!!, and all the Rams fans cheered Bobby Stokes winner for the Saints after United knocked Derby out in the semi final at hillsborough a few weeks earlier, yes was a great time that summer. RIP Bobby, you were a hero for a day up in Derbyshire
  19. 27C here, going a little cloudy here now and a few showers to the west, bit dissapointing really as it was forcast to stay reasonably sunny till about evening but thats the UK for you, South and SE looks to cloud over later from the area in the channel which was probably unforseen as well so maybe no records broken their today, enjoy everyone.
