  1. I can guarantee our totals arent much different. We were due a wet day today except its been bone dry all day and last night and much warmer than forecast by some 3 or 4c!!! Weve had about 95mm for the year so far. Exceptionally below average now, especially if April remains very dry.

east anglia is the driest place in the uk and where i live is very low ground many places around me like luton northampton and milton keynes get more rain than me, last night was the first time its rained since feb but it wont much anyway

  2. Can see where your coming from certainly in regard to the none stop of life these days. Consumerism has a lot to answer for!

Interesting you say 'frantic activity of summer' - living in the city I actually find summer the quietest time of year for traffic and people being in pubs and such. Certainly down to the student population here and that I pass through a student area going to work. Even now with the Easter hols started the number of parked cars and traffic volume has halved. August- no students, no schools, loads of people away on holiday - it's a very, very quiet run. Compared to late October/November when it's absolutely manic everyday (and dark too) it's just wonderful!

Sad to hear you must work so much during summer.. I suppose naturally we're meant to do 'more' during summer as we need a bit less sleep (and indeed food I find) than we do in winter but still a 7 day working week doesn't sound fun.

Glad the debates can continue from our opposite ends of the spectrum - if we were all the same the world would indeed be a dull place.

if we all agreed there would be no debates and arguements and we would all be freinds lol

  3. not enough rain here last night again but i do live in a desert

Yes nothing more than a few spots of drizzly stuff here, Shropshire must be the capital though of avoiding the rain but keeping the cloud.

you are much closer to the atlantic than me and i bet your avrage rainfall is much more than my area

  4. good post i agree there are too many people busy for unnecessary reasons and they all complain they want more light, have they thought the weather comes first then daylight

if its raining they cant go outside to do anything anyway.

  5. As a whole season recent Springs have delivered more in the way of fine settled weather than recent summers, the last four springs have been very decent in terms of lengthy dry sunny plesantly warm periods - yes there have been exceptions such as the early cold in April 2008 and some notably wet spells such as late March 09 and parts of May 07, and 08 and cold weather in May 10, but on the whole drier settled spells have outlived the shorter more unsettled colder spells.

However, most of our springs between 98 and 06 were far more changeable and summers during that period on the whole delivered longer lasting dry settled weather - notably summer 01, 05 and 06. Of all the months April with Sept in recent years has failed to deliver any significantly colder than average weather and has been a very good month for warmth - don't know why things seems to outfavour a cold April anymore.

good i dont want cold aprils as all it does is harm my plants and is not good enough for proper long lasting snow anyway
