  1. As the weather breaks down, an area of snow looks increasingly likely to spread from the southwest. Winds will strengthen and blizzard conditions are a possibility, especially over high ground. Accumulations of more than 10 cm of snow are possible in many parts, with the potential for some severe disruption, though currently there is a good deal of uncertainty about intensity of snow and how quickly it will turn to rain in the southwest. The public should be aware of the risk of significant travel disruption affecting the west in the morning and the east in the afternoon. This warning is likely to be updated over the next couple of days. Wonder if they issue a Red warning by Friday for somewhere

  3. We are down to -1.4°C with a dew point of -3.7°C cloud cover is preventing us going really low at the moment
  4. Just looked outside there isn't any fog we've got orange cloud coming over which is preventing the temperature from getting well into minus digits at -1.2°C currently

  16. Latest from NW regarding the weekend Cold Spell Update - What Happens Next? Friday and into the weekend is beginning to look as though it will become a ‘battle ground’ across the UK as the high pressure to the north-east maintains cold conditions across the UK but with frontal systems attempting to move up into the UK. This scenario often brings a significant risk of some disruptive snowfall to parts of the UK and latest model guidance is signalling that risk during the course of Friday and into the weekend at the moment. Bearing in mind that confidence in details is low at this stage, but excluding Ireland, parts of Wales, SW England and some other Southern areas of England, a zone of sleet and snow may move North-east during Friday, with perhaps Northern England and Scotland at primary risk of some significant accumulations. http://www.netweathe...ryid=1348;sess=
