  3. Monday 6 Feb - Wednesday 15 Feb Mostly fine with sunny spells on Monday, although cloudier in the northwest with some rain. Light or moderate winds for most, becoming stronger in the northwest, with a risk of coastal gales. From Tuesday, high pressure tends to dominate, with any frontal systems most active in the northwest, but quickly weakening as they stagger southeast across the UK. For many, there should be plenty of mostly dry if rather cold weather, likely lasting a few days, with overnight frost and perhaps some fog patches in the south and a small chance of very cold conditions and snow showers moving in from the east. However, most likely is a resumption of wetter, windier and milder weather from the west after a few days of cold conditions. Thursday 16 Feb - Thursday 2 Mar This period is likely to be characterised by changeable weather, with unsettled and windy conditions, especially in the northwest. The best of the settled conditions in the east and southeast. Temperatures likely average or slightly milder than average, with a chance of short-lived colder spells. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  6. New York City has broken the record for the latest ever measurable snowfall. The previous record for the latest ever snow fall was January 29th 1973. An official snowfall must have at least 0.1 of an inch on the ground.
  7. Sunday 5 Feb - Tuesday 14 Feb Sunday is likely to be a widely fine day, with long sunny spells across all areas, with residual showers in the far north clearing through the morning, and with cloud and light rain in the south also clearing. Cloudier conditions may begin to develop in the far west later. Strong winds in the north at first but easing through the day. Further into the period the conditions are expected to remain settled for many at first, with the most of any wet weather likely in the far northwest. Temperatures most likely around average for most. Later, the most likely scenario is for wetter, windier and milder weather to move in from the west, however there is a small chance of easterly winds developing bringing colder weather and some snow showers. Wednesday 15 Feb - Wednesday 1 Mar This period is likely to be characterised by changeable weather, with unsettled and windy conditions, especially in the northwest. The best of the settled conditions in the east and southeast. Temperatures likely average or slightly milder than average, with a chance of short colder spells. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  11. Saturday 4 Feb - Monday 13 Feb Saturday is likely to be mostly cloudy, with some patchy rain and drizzle, especially for western upslopes. Some clear and sunny spells are possible to start, followed by a band of rain, locally heavy, approaching the southeast. Winds generally moderate, but locally strong in the north. Further into the period, more unsettled conditions are likely in the north and northwest, where longer spells of rain and strong winds are expected. The south is likely to see some drier spells, although some light rain or drizzle remain possible. Some overnight fog patches are possible in the south under clear skies. Winds varying from strong in the northwest to light in the southeast. Temperatures near normal or mild. Tuesday 14 Feb - Tuesday 28 Feb This period is likely to be characterised by a continuation of changeable weather, with unsettled conditions more likely in the north. A longer spell of widely unsettled conditions is possible, bringing spells of wet and windy weather for all areas, with the wettest conditions remaining focused in the west. Temperatures generally around or slightly above average. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk
  12. A dry night with mostly clear skies and a brisk north westerly wind Temp 6.1c
  13. Friday 3 Feb - Sunday 12 Feb On Friday, cloud with patchy rain and drizzle are expected in the far north. However, dry, bright, and breezy conditions with sunny spells are likely for most. For the rest of the period, unsettled weather conditions are expected in the north whilst settled conditions are more likely in the south. As a result, showers and longer spells of rain with strong winds are likely in the north and particularly in northwestern parts of the UK. Drier conditions with light winds are expected across the southern areas, with overnight and morning fog patches possible at times. Temperatures overall will be near normal or above normal for most throughout the period, but overnight frost is likely in the south. Monday 13 Feb - Monday 27 Feb While uncertain, a continuation of the regional divide between the north and south is expected as the broad theme for this period. Unsettled conditions are more likely to dominate in the north while the south remains settled and drier. A spell of more widely spread wet and windy weather is likely to persist for several days across all areas, although wettest conditions will focus in the west. Temperatures are most likely to remain around average or above. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  16. Calm and dry tonight with variable cloud Temp 4.8c
  17. Thursday 2 Feb - Saturday 11 Feb On Thursday, cloud and outbreaks of rain will slowly move across the north of the UK, with heavier bursts for the northwest at first, while the south is more likely to stay dry with sunny intervals. Strong winds will mainly confine to the north early in the day. Towards the weekend and into next week, uncertainty is high regarding a regional split of conditions. The most likely scenario brings showers, longer spells of rain and strong winds to the north, with the wettest conditions in the northwest. The south is more likely to remain largely dry with lighter winds. Temperatures are expected to remain near to or slightly above average for most, although clearer conditions bring a risk of overnight fog and frost for the south. Sunday 12 Feb - Sunday 26 Feb While uncertain, a continuation of the regional divide between the north and south is expected as the broad theme for this period.

  19. A calm and damp morning after 0.7mm of rain Temo 1.0c with a low of -1.3c
  20. A colder night tonight with clear skies and calm Temp -0.4c
  21. Wednesday 1 Feb - Friday 10 Feb On Wednesday, unsettled and windy conditions in the north with showers or longer spells of rain, heaviest and most persistent in the west. Conditions likely drier and less windy further south. Towards the end of the week, these conditions likely to continue with perhaps the risk for winter showers in the northeast. Thereafter, high pressure centred to the south, with low pressure passing to the north. This will result in fronts bringing rain and cloud mainly to the north and northwest, with southern areas also likely to see some lighter rain at times, but greater potential for drier weather overall, lighter winds and overnight fog patches. Temperatures generally around to a little above average, but a continuing risk of some overnight frost, especially in the south. Saturday 11 Feb - Saturday 25 Feb The general theme for this period is that the high pressure will remain centred to the south with further areas of low pressure running to the north, but with some uncertainty in this north/south boundary. For a time, the influence of the high may reduce, allowing the frontal systems from the north to push further south at times. This frontal activity and associated changeable weather is likely to bring rainfall, sometimes heavy to move areas of the UK. Otherwise, southern areas probably seeing more in the way of drier weather, lighter winds, and overnight fog. Temperatures are likely to be at or slightly above average, although brief colder spells remain possible. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk
