  13. Im down in Bournemouth and will be heading north this friday afternoon for my first u.k. chase. Thinking I will head to the sailsbury area and see what comes my way. Anybody recomend any good high spots that will give me a good view as I will have no internet access to radar when I hit the road. If anybody is chasing in the area and would like to hook up or fancys a seat in the car / share fuel cost give me a P.M. Have to be back in Bournemouth for 5pm as picking wife up from work, unless on something good then she may well be getting the bus home
  14. well after getting tonight off work for my first U.K. chase in exchange for working this saturday night. I am some what dissapointed. Never say never but not full of hope. Time for a nap then of to the stour for a few hours fishing unless things change.
  15. Thanks for the reply. Just had some great news, my wife now has a lift from a work mate so Im now free (but still married ) so can chase later and possibly further afield. So you think sit tight and wait for a while? I'll put the kettle on then
  16. Sorry to quote / repost my post but if possible would like a little help with where to head. Head to SE coast (brighton way) or nw towards london, or stay put. I do need to be back for 10pm, my wife was not very keen to say the least when I said to get the bus home. Thanks Dave
  17. I now have the eve of work and would like your opinions on where if anywhere I should head to and wait as this is my first uk chase. In Bournemouth at mo and need to be back here for 10pm really but could get my wife to take a taxi home if needs be this eve. Is there any good view points you would recommend to watch the show unfold with in 2 or so hours of Bournemouth. Also, I have no internet access from when I hit the road. I chased East coast Oz and used the wifi connection at Mc donalds, do they have same free wifi in this country or anyone know of other options. I know there is no way of knowing if storms will def go but just want to know what / where you would head to in my situation. Of home to pack the car now, thanks and good luck all.
  18. Im no expert but , Even with a such high cape and lifted index if the air is capped (warm dry air above the good / energy filled air) then the Cu clouds cant grow that big as they are stopped when reaching this cap of warm air. As the day goes on this cap can be erroded or the surface heating will cause the rising air to over come it. Again no expert but general jist just seen you question has already been answered
  19. Ok got my evening shift covered so as of 2pm Im free to chase, now just need something to chase. Just started to spit with rain here in Bournemouth/christchurch. Mostly overcast but few holes trying to appear
  20. Thanks for the reply. Will be taking the camera and laptop to work with me in Christchurch so will be ready to go as soon as I get out of work. Have text a work mate to see If I can get cover so fingers crossed. And best of luck to you and everyone else.
  21. morning all. My first post on here and hope to follow with my first U.K. chase later. I have to work 11am - 2pm then 6pm onwards so hope to get out for a few hours this afternoon if anything goes within 1hr drive but thinking about getting my shift covered so I could go a bit further afield. Thinking about heading Winchester way at about 2pm hoping for the best, what you guys think.
