Hello all,
Can anyone tell me what my chances are of getting something over the weekend,
My kids love storms too and are nagging me for answers. I know I have a 70% chance tomorrow at 1600 but understand that can change and it's hard to pin point any storm action.

once again looking like a plonker telling my family big storm coming then guess what .....its never as bad not that i want it noooo i like my tv toooo much.
just move to Scotland , stormy weather at least every 3 months ...oh and free prescriptions

hello all ,not very often i post here but over the past two or so hours the wind gusts have increased enough for me to take note and see whats going on , so far i have found a couple of roof tiles in the back garden with little bits of insulation stuck to the fence(guessing its mine) , not much you may think , but the storm last week damaged my roof to the point water was pouring through the smoke alarm ,as it was connected to the mains i dare not , and would not, try and remove it , so spent the whole day with the alarm sounding till an electrician arrived.
im thinking of bringing my two kids down stairs to sleep , my roof seems to be taking a pounding , i love extreme weather, but at the moment ,things are getting a bit wild here..even for my standards.

Can hear some feint rumbles in the distance from here
Very lively outlook on radar just nowjust had some of that strobe lightning people down south were having the other day..haven't seen that for years , pretty gusty winds also ! .. can see the lower cloud getting sucked up above me..day of radar watching it is then

Skies darkened quite quickly there as this band rolled on in.

What it looked like on approach, eerily still with a gentle warm breeze, then downpours as it passed through.
Found this on Twitter a moment ago, from the continent, an ubercell over Germany yesterday..

sorry im no expert on this but iv just looked out of the window and noticed some very odd looking clouds,like very long lines in lines one on top of the other...never seen anything like it before
does it look something like this ?
if so then its called mackerel skies

the storm(s) over me just now seem to be intensifying
..aircraft at Edinburgh airport are taking a flightpath east then south over my house(which they never do)..engines screaming as they do , can only guess its due to turbulence..must be quite nasty up there -
storm still ongoing here , nothing spectacular, but im not complaining.. do you all think this as the last for my area tonight or will it be worth staying up till after midnight ?

good evening everyone, pretty boring weather up here today, we had fog all day , was hoping it would burn off in time to help things go bang but didnt really start to clear until 3pm
.anyways, i would rather ask you guys than rely on the meto... any chance of me seeing anything exciting tomorrow, i know rain is inbound but anything else ?

Colours seem to be easing here slightly but that was a pretty violent downpour we had (looks like persistent though now rather than showers)
yeah its been a while since i have seen rain like that here. glad i got a storm though, very deep booming thunder

been thundering here for the past half hour , with torrential rain , reports of flooding on some major roads, radar showing more heading this way so looks like this flooding is going to get worse.

morning all, hope everyone is well. not getting my hopes up for today,even though the forecast for my area is for thunderstorms this afternoon. noticed that nice cluster of activity just of the Irish coast, ive just come off night shift but think i will stay up to see if it has my name on it, looks slightly promising

afternoon all, the MO has just put a weather warning out for my area tomorrow from 11am onward. not getting excited as looking from what you guys have been posting im lucky to be even getting the word thunder in my forecast

john i hate to burst the bubble but just heard they are demolishing tower blocks in north glasgow so unsure what it was ! But it was massive and the sky is very dark x
ah well .. reminds me of bin day...think you hear thunder then realize its the bin men lol..weather warning out for your area so you never know -

Nice one! The views are probably best from the back off the storm when it moves off but I don't really have a view in that direction. Will see if I can get a few piccies up. Storm now moving away. Hoping a 3rd might form, can see more towers to the south. That would just be too much luck though I think...
yeah wish i had got the camera ready now.was planing to but didn't think anything would kick off as it rarely does here lol.

What a horrible day here, been under cloud all day.
Happy that you guys down south are having fun!
Does anyone think that storm just passing Durham is coming my way?
