  1. Those met offices pics are interesting. .no idea where that's coming from the french cells are drifting much further over..
  2. Heard the thunder from the Salisbury/Swindon cell as it passed us in the southern new forest to our west..thunder was behind us going north.shows up well on rain today..with the big storm system in france progged to clip Kent tonight.Think that's it for us today though..temps down to 21c
  3. Frequent lighning to the south west of me in the new forest...about every 10/15 seconds!
  4. Very deep far away rumbles being heard here in the New Forest,3 miles from the sea...looking at the radar the only storm I can see is over thechannel islands...can we seriously hear the thunder from there? Its very rumbly.....
  5. I agree that Hampshire and IOW ain't the SE...we are actually west of Southampton here in Lymington/Tiptoe and we are just about on the border of the meto's SE/SW split! At the moment we can hear very very deep rumbles from a long way away (we are three miles from the south coast here)...are we hearing the storm all the way over the channel islands? Obviously very elevated as the sounds are sooooooo deep......
  6. In Ashurst New Forest this afternoon at about 2.33 there were several rumbles of thunder and a couple of flashes of lightning...then a hailstorm and at about 3.15 another lightning strike and a loud rumble ot thunder...by the not very scientific method of counting seconds between flash and bang the lightning was between a mile and a mile and a half away...unexpected!
  7. rain today radar has the snow going in the opposite direction to how it had it only an hour ago!!!...now being pushed back west and south so no heavy stuff for us...some flurries coming in over London might make it here...
