Turned a bit sleety
-
What about February 1991; did you not get plenty then?
No don't recall anything significant I was 20 then and nothing stopped me getting to work whereas the 86 one the roads were blocked. Unless another local can stand me corrected. This part of the world has an amazing ability to miss all the heavy snow don't know if its because of our height below sea level and our proximity to the wash. But we don't seem to miss out on heavy rain :-(
-
Has obviously been cold but very poor snow amounts as usual, got to go back to I think 1986 since we got a proper dumping
-
Been heavy for the last 20 minutes or so and starting to get a decent covering now after the large thaw today!
Good luck that heavier burst lasted for about 10mins here
-
Very very light here. Been snowing for almost 5hrs and I doubt if we have 1cm, lower your expectations guys unless of course your higher elevation serves you well. Good luck
-
My road is white over but at the current rate it could snow for the rest of winter and not cause any problems. Here's hoping it peps up,

Front now moving into South Lincs proper (Finally after spalding had hogged it all day ) Raintoday radar shows it is about to hit Boston, However the heavy stuff has just made the Yarmouth area and im still confident that this will hit our part of Lincs head on later tonight maybe in the wee hours.
LO
Looked good on the radar but trust me the only thing Spalding has hogged today is grey skies. Started here at about 16:45

by gum i think you are right, do you think it will become sleety like it says on the met office site or do we think we might get some decent snowfall
Well it wouldn't surprise me for this area but the fact that it has started with snow flakes I am hopefully that this will continue as things may cool off when the heavier precip gets here. Fingers crossed
-
what has?
As there is white flakes coming down I'm going to assume its snow
-
Just started here in south lincs
-
Still waiting down here, I was hoping to be able to watch in daylight but time is running out.
-
Its getting its act together here now, settling with ease. Looking forward to driving home in 30mins
-
Looks like its almost at spalding!
The odd small flake so far not enough to say its snowing, wind is quite breesey so hopefully it will be here soon
-
TEITS posted this on the model outlook forum, looks a bit better from an IMBY perspective
-
showing -3.1c here. Cant get too excited about the weekend for my part of Lincolnshire, think we will miss out on the good stuff as usual unless of course that front can penetrate a bit further east
-
showing 1.6c here, no snow today as yet and looking outside there does'nt appear to be any chance of that changing anytime soon
-
as soon as i posted my last message i looked out and the snow was quite heavy
Thats sods law is'nt it. Long may it continue always frustrates me when to the north and south of us do well but this little part of Lincolnshire seems to miss out on the fun
-
I am in Spalding and it is snowing quite well, starting to settle on grass and cars.
-
Snowing in south lincs but not settling
-
Light snow has reached Spalding, reading through the posts though i am non the wiser as to how much we are might get
-
Been snowing in Spalding since about 17:30. Just been for a 40min drive and small drifts are readily forming, my tracks had gone when i returned home. Not big flakes but quite fast and blowing about alot. Hard to judge current depth but possibly about an inch or two.
-
it must be slightly colder today as the snow we had last night has not thawed where the sun cant get to, this time yesterday the snow we had wednesday night had all gone.
I work in Spalding and as you say wednesday nights snow soon vanished well at least i thought, by the time i got back to Gosberton (about 16:30) gardens and fields were still white over there was even some compressed snow still left on my avenue.
Keeping fingers crossed for Saturday night now
-
just stopped snowing here at the mo, i should say by the look of it we've had about 1 inch
-
Indeed sparky temp dropped the best part of 1 degree in that time according to my guage, snowing nicely now

We now have snow, not heavy enough to start settling. It looks like wet snow but I'm not going out to find out
