My attention is drawn to Europe, over 2500 j/kg of cape and Li -9 Estofex will be busy this week and indeed Nick F here on NW
Incredile stuff! Can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be in it!
Looking good in the East/NE for next Monday too. Will change a lot until then you'd have thought.

Looking nice (depending on which way you look at it) for Friday!

Interestingly, Sunday also looks good. At the moment.

Liking the charts from the latest runs, looking at it I think most will at least hear thunder this week.
I am hoping someone could help me, I remember seeing a beast of a storm here on 31/08/05 with constant lightning and it pretty much went on all night, Im just wondering if anyone could find me or tell me where to locate, some charts etc such as cape and lightning detection for that day.
These are the charts I found for that date.

No, it's where the strong/fast updraft causes the air to cool and condense which forms the cloud.
Many thanks, I've always wondered what that was. I've seen it a few times around Bristol, in the distance I may add. :-/
@ Active Weather Dude - GFS 06z shows some CAPE of around 500 - 700 in/near Bristol Friday/Saturday. 700 is further up in the West Mids northwards.

Well that was a crap shower! Must have just skimmed me and now the suns out. Black skies to my North.
-
Watch out Bristol. Just heard a rumble of thunder to the northeast.
Excellent! Getting darker here now. Rain getting heavier.
-
Lightning being produced from a cell just south of Bristol. C'mon now!
-
Still very Humid here and sunny. Has been for the last 2 hours but some huge CB's are visible to my south and for some reason I'm hoping again!
-
Lol you couldn't make it up could you. In a plethora of other locations there's talk of supercells, multicells, tornadoes, frequent lightning etc etc.....here I haven't even had a shower.
IMO for your part of the country, yes unfortunately.
Thanks mate, I can get on with my day now. lol.

Can anyone say if I should stop hoping now?
-
Yep, I was there. 7 years old with my 4 year old brother stuck in my Dads Cavalier on the A45 outside Coventry.
Please give me another one of these events!!!

I cannot believe that you guys have spent 13 pages on 'Corbyn' hate?
Have you nothing better to do than rip apart another human being for sticking his neck out?
At least you could have the decency to waiting until the winter has finnished before making all of your brash and ill mannered posts?
We are after all supposed to be British?! (except the foreigners, they can say what they like )
I agree. Too much hate goes on. This is a Weather forum.
Who ever believes what can believe it, I say respect it.

Hey everyone, I'm new here. Just wanted to add my 2 pence. I'm no expert weatherwise - I just love the weather as much as most on here.
I'm currently thinking December will be very different to last, rather boring and not too much cold around, possibly. Its just my gut feeling. Although I hope not. But I suppose having a year of boring non-eventful weather hasn't helped my thoughts. Not sure about Jan & Feb as I'm no pro and wouldnt know where to start lol.
I hope someone can tell me that we will have a snowmagedon in winter at some point!!!
Hello to you all btw!!
