    I done it on my own last year for a long weekend... I went to Les Houches near Chamonix, stayed in a little hotel called La Barme ..... £39 a night in a single room, could had fitted a double bed at a squeeze but the location was great for the gondola... it was a bit of a walk into town but that wasn't an issue after a jar or five. Many places offer single occupancy, hotels.com or bookings.com are great places to find these... well that is where I look.

    Thanks all for the reports and reassurance... I have had this booked since July so when I started looking at the weather reports Mid December it started to look very bleak.... Felt very sorry for the Xmas goers.

    I'm off to Morillon, Grand Massif area on the 3rd Jan, slightly concerned that it's scheduled to rain on Friday night and Saturday due to the milder weather seeping in.. should I be worried?

    On the chart.. am I following the GEFS Control and GFS Operational lines to establish some kind of a trend? ( I assume that as they are the more prominent) but what about the GEFS Mean? is this line a average of the Control and Operational?

    Thanks Coast.... Just looking at the latest charts now and the chart goes crazy after the 18th... so I would assume that means we are non the wiser of what will happen next? i.e milder or potential colder shot?

    Where can I find this chart? as I have been observing pressure charts at the moment and I made the mistake thinking the colours were temperatures .. Doh! :-D

    Yes, I wouldn't mind a decent answer to this as it's just un-believable at the moment that we will be getting this milder weather.
