Clear and frosty this morning at my house- temp down to -1c last night. Thick fog just down the road and at work, in fact it is still very cold and foggy here now!
The best snow I have ever seen, trees were snapping uder the weight of it and being bent to the ground. Snow stayed for 3 days, closing schools and roads in my area!
Wow, I'm not too far away from you interested, so heres hoping! Still only drizzle to report, but still cold- 2.6c and with a bitter east wind starting to pick up. Hope this doesn't mean that the warm front is nearly here
After 4 hours of sleet/wet snow here in the new forest, this pm has been a bit of a disappointment- still cold (currently 2.7c) but is now drizzling and is pretty much all rain, only a minute bit of sleet. Never mind- at least we saw something!
We have had wet snow here most of the morning with temps around 2.2-2.4c. It has attempted to lie, but ground is too wet. This is quite a local event as I have been reliably informed that 6 miles away in Southampton it has breen rain all morning! By the sounds of it I have more to come!
All we had was light rain and mild temps of 11c yesterday evening until 9pm and the rain stopped and temps dropped very rapidly at around 1c every 3 minutes for around half an hour. Then this morning we had a few flakes of snow - obviously didn't do anything but it is very surprising to see any snow or sleet down here before December. Very icy this morning too!
A very late report but the internet wasn't working yesterday. I was in Southampton yesterday and we had a HUGE storm. Torrential rain and loads of flashes of lightning. Loads of roads were flooded and I had to walk through a flood to get to my car. I have never seen anything so bad, and it occurred during the rush hour so the whole of town was gridlocked and it took 1 and a half hours to get home, when it should have taken 20mins. It was finishing by the time I got home as well
Great chart Paul and nice to see that I was second last week. Our best time for thunderstorms in the new forest is early summer, so I will probably slip down the charts later!
