ok it's not strictly on topic, but just to let you know that the seal pup i pictured has been taken into rehab as it was chased around the beach by quad bike and hasn't been fed for a couple of days and it is thought by people more expert than me that mum wouldn't come back to it now anyway. We uplifted two of them infact, the other hadn't been fed for around 4 or 5 days either :lol: you can see my report here in the top right under the title caithness grey seal pups rescued.

Sorry, team, it had to be MCT for me, the wave like clouds over a flat sea are just so nice :lol: the others are stunning too been such good quality the past few months!

it's certainly been more than mild today! it reached 21.5c up here! i was positively baking on the pier today. Definately not autumnal today though i do wish these midges would die off now! been the worst aeptember i have known since being here for them i don't know how it compares, but i moved up here on 1st october 2002 and i seem to remember that october being very warm (i was expecting to have to wear woolly knickers this far north!) and the november being rather windy !

When i first moved up here on 1st october 2002 i was living in a caravan and had brought one of the dogs with me (the others and the family stayed south for 6 weeks to get rid of the house etc) and every night i took sasha for a walk along the lane. There were no street lights and i had been here about 2 weeks when i saw my first northern lights in the UK (seen them in norway many moons ago). It was just like a white 'search light' so wasn't sure until i asked the next day. after that i saw them another 5 or 6 times all in october ranging from pure green sky to the white ribbon with the dancing rainbow lights in them i didn't have a camera at the time :blink:

ya cheeky young whippersnapper :unsure: there were some incredible clouds around yesterday up here, but nothing came of them for all they looked full of mean intensity and anger a few big drips of rain and that was it! i was most disappointed, still awaiting my 4th thunderstorm in being here for 4 years!
