  1. Yay me got a job at last starting 5th march just goes to show perseverance and not giving in pays off in the end
  2. I would rate this winter at 0.000000005 this year been really disappointing and that 5 at the end is for the 2 frosts a one shower of falling snow
  3. Try saying that when you are out in these conditions in a high sided vehicle then tell me there is no need for a warning
  4. I'm really surprised that there have been no warnings for the wind in the northwest for today from the met office
  5. Had some sleet when walking daughter to nursery and just had some hail
  6. Well gusts are already stronger than forecast so no idea but I would say quite a bit stronger than forecasted
  7. Well gusts are strong enough to make the lamppost across the road to sway quite a bit lol
  8. Thing is met office had us down for about 40mph gusts max and as you have said already getting 50mph gusts and will only get stronger as it moves in later
  9. Is it me or do we seem to be getting the winds that were meant to be down south as they are saying on there threads that it's not that windy ?
  10. Center of the low appears to be just off the s/w Coast of Ireland wouldn't be suprised to see wind gusts close to what we had on Wednesday
  11. Unfortunately temps to warm for the weather we want to see and just going to see more of the same old stuff we have been sick of for the last 3 months
  12. Not as bad as it was earlyer but can still hear the gusts when they happen
  13. Been to parents evening only damage seen was a chimney pot smashed on the floor not had any flickering lights yet touch wood
  14. Just bungied down rabbit hutch cover to stop it blowing away later hutch is sheltered by the house and next doors extension
  15. Sunny and very calm right now defiantly calm before the storm but this is what catches people out they look and go oh it's ok nothing to worry about go out then on way home get hit by it
  16. Kudos for met office for putting the warning out early enough for people to react and prepare for what is coming
  17. At the end of the day is your life more valuable than your job is the way to look at it job will always be there what's not done today can be done tomorrow will you ? As for emergency services that is what they are there for and paid well to do the same rules don't apply to them I know I'm ex forces and had to do things in conditions no normal person would want to Anyway rant over lol
  18. Widespread structural damage, e.g. roofs blown off, mobile homes overturned, power lines brought down. Risk to personal safety from flying debris. Potentially widespread and/or prolonged interruptions to power. Expect widespread transport disruption due to e.g. roads blocked by fallen trees.
  19. Not going to get anything other than rain and STUPIDLY strong wind here
  20. Looks like my location will be right in the fireing line for the strongest gusts as less than a mile from the coast and road I live on runs staight down to it
