  1. Not a flake in Caerphilly. I think South East Wales must be in a dead spot fo snow, the last few years we've had nothing even when the rest of the country have been snowed in (although we did cop a load in 2010)! Facebook covered in snow pics from family/friends dotted around the UK . . .

  2. Na - PAID!! Ni'n cael eira yn aml yn ystod cyfnod yma'r gaeaf. Chwefror, Mawrth ac Ebrill weithiau yn dod a tywydd gaeafol, oer ayyb.

No DON'T!! We often get snow in this part of the winter. Feb, March and sometimes April deliver the cold and wintery weather.

    Yn wir. Diolch !

    indeed. Thanks !

Hey you lot across the border!

Looks like the NAE 18z is an upgrade for South and East Wales as well as South West England! I think places like Cwmbran, Newport, Magor, Pontypool, Chepstow etc could do quite well out of this!

    Good luck all!

ooh hows about caerphilly? otherwise im just going to have to go and stay at my mum's in newport for the weekend lol...

  4. ok rant Here, am getting sick of constant tweets and fb updates from my inlaws moaning about their 15cms of snow (which they apparently hate ), sending me pics of it and telling us we're "lucky " not to have any in Wales. Or my MIL, who desperately wants us to move down to Kent (not going to happen ) trying to persuade me that "see, if you lived Here you'd have lots Of snow " and claiming she was "snowed in " yesterday. She lives in the middle of Sittingbourne in a flat, hillless area with a Sainsburys 2 mins walk away, how can you get snowed In under those conditions ? We were properly "snowed in " for a week in the valleys last December, seriously, roads impassable and cars buried under three feet of frozen snow !!! :80:

*takes deep breath * OK that over with, its gone very damp and miserable here and definitely not as cold as it was, no frost or ice and all snow melted. Not sure what to expect next as the forecast from the Met is totally different to the one on my android phone, from Accuweather, which was actually Much more reliable than the Met on Saturday . . . . :sorry:

  5. sadly it looks Like the snow has turned to rain just like predicted and so our two inches of snow will soon be washed away, but I'm trying no t to feel too disheartened, we've got a good enough covering for me to take my little boy out on his sledge and give my baby daughter her first sight of snow. I was afraid this winter would be totally snowless so at least we have had a brief taste of it, even if there won't be any "snowdays " !! we also had a drama today as the condensation pipe from our combi boiler had frozen solid, meaning our boiler stopped working and we had to ring around and find an engineer who could make an emergency call . . . we're £60 poorer as a result !!

  6. Really all i want is enough so that i can take my little boy out on it, even if it thaws straight afterwards. Feeling glum about our chances though after the disappointment which was last weekends "snowfest" and with bbc and meto threatening us with sleet and eain. May well have to avoid facebook this weekend so i don't get my nose rubbed in the metres of snow my smug inlaws will be enjoying in kent
