I can't believe the speed of some of those vehicles driving through the puddles, no wonder there were accidents out and about this morning.
On a brighter note got blue sky above us on "The Sunshine Coast" just goes to show how localised the rain really is.
-
Wind picking up again now looking at East Sussex roads lots of reports of trees down. Glad nobody was hurt Coast and please if any of you guys are heading home soon please take care on the roads its breezy and then all of a sudden you get a gust of 50 mph.
-
I wouldn't say it's that windy down near the Sussex coast at the moment although the gusts are pretty strong I have just had to rescue recylcing bins that had blown into the road. From what I have read there is worse to come? Is this still correct does anyone know?
-
Antonyb why do you have to put down everyones comments just because something hasn't happened within 10 yards of where you live doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
-
It was a pretty dreary day down on the "Sunshine Coast" today, felt pretty chilly with all the cloud cover as well. Can't quite believe the temperatures that are forecast for tomorrow.
-
Yep can say the thaw has definitely arrived, instead of a nice white garden I now have a muddy mess which the dogs seem to revel in bringing inside. I can't see us getting a big freeze like we have had for the past couple of weeks. Over a week of lying snow is pretty impressive in my eyes. Still wouldn't rule out some more short snaps of cold, fingers crossed!
-
That looks interesting Coast although looking at us on the "Sunshine Coast" would miss out with that one

With regards to the regional threads closing once the winter weather is over. I would prefer to discuss the weather on a regional basis as it can vary from area to area and we all fall into the trap of IMBY when discussing the weather.
-
That is a really cool picture.
-
Seemed to stop here even before it started really. Very light sprinkling on cars. Seems we're too far south and east for this event.
-
Ok I'm happy now has just started and already a dusting on the cars.
-
You guys in Brighton glad you got some at least seems to be our turn over in Eastbourne not to get any
-
Would be typical to get some more have just cleared the driveway this afternoon!
-
Tiny little snow flakes in Hailsham just outside Eastbourne.
-
Heavily snowing in Worthing, West Sussex - Lamp post nearly gone! (from Visibility not depth)
Probably stuck in traffic at Southeram roundabout!
-
Hi guys just got in from work, can someone please bring me up to date with whats happening? what time are we expecting snow ,thanks
Light stuff should be with you any time now
-
Its like christmas eve!
Ohh the anticipation.
Its all part of the fun!
lol

Am I right in thinking that the main event is midnight Sat/Sun? If that is the case when should we be able to get a better idea of what is going to happen?
-
Trying to look at this all from an impartial perspective this is the best chance we have had all winter of decent snow. It is confusing/frustrating when we have certain media outlets saying sleet and mini-heatwave about to evolve to reading that we are in for a right snow fest.
Emotions are bound to be running high, most of us deep down are big kids and we all secretly yearn for blizzard like conditions and snowdrifts of 6ft.
I am sitting here watching various weather websites scanning radars and generally trying to enjoy the anticipation of "playing" in the snow and building snowmen .
We all have different views and different perspectives let's just be a little more tolerant of each others pov.
-
As I'm aware we are expecting light snow showers overnight, giving no more than a dusting for much, which the radar is currently reflecting, so i'm confused as to what you are expecting?
I would settle for a few snowflakes
-
I am trying to be realistic and understand that we may not get what is predicited but it's pretty hard when you look at some of these charts. BBC News 24 weather has just shown what looked like some snow showers down our way for Friday night.
-
Hammer I have just seen that as well . Anyone in that neck of the woods care to take a little peek out the window and see if it's what we think it is.
-
Tweet from East Sussex road
"There is now a risk of snow flurries overnight and through Friday morning accumulations of 0 - 2cm are possible in places"
That'll be Southern up the spout tomorrow morning then!
-
Have been lurking here for a few days watching the discussion of "will it won't it". Was it me or did Michael Fish very quickly gloss over the weather for Friday?! I agree bring back Kaddy trust her more than any of the others. Hurricane of '87 anyone?!

Sorry to disappoint Coast clouded over again but there are still patches of the blue stuff (sky) around.
