Haha! I'll hold you to that!!! Because its looking like being a near 24 hour precipitation event and it looks more and more like the cold will push further and further west I'm sure that atleast at some stage we will see snow. Probably early hours of Friday morning would be a safe bet.Yeah same here, the Met Office issued a warning much earlier than on Saturday, suggesting to me that they're more confident about this one.
Backtrack's special snow wager: If we do not get snow on Friday, I will film myself cutting my eyebrows off!
-
I'm ruling nothing out at this stage, it only take a few suttle changes and the outcome could be much much different! I'm actually more confident about tomorrow night/Friday than I was about last Saturday!!Pray for a 50-75 mile W shift, it's ALL to play for!
Who were the guys saying that was it in terms of snow for winter, and I laughed and they had a go at me?
Just remind yourselves of that.

I'm no expert but from earlier runs this provides slighlty more hope as far as Snow goes for the North West of England, the GFS wants to brig that cooler pool of upper air further west than it was wanting to do in earlier runs. However please take in to account that this is "The Pub" Run!! Still all to play for in my opinion though!! Anyone elses thoughts would be greatly appreciated!cheers mate but you say tomorrow is worse yeah?

Its only showing up to 3am on Friday morning at the moment and from what I can gather it slowly want to push the T850 uppers from east to west thus by 3am most of the UK are under 0 C and the North West is at roughly -3/-4 C!what's it showing mate. I can't check til tomorrow
-
Its such a marginal situation there is a chance given favourable conditions the Snow risk could extend further West and to lower altitudes, the MetO are just being on the cautious side!!Am I missing something here the metro site has a warning for snow covering the Merseyside region !!!

Thank you! Latest GFS isn't doing us any favours for improving the chances of Snow thus far, surprise surprise!!Paul is on the case Dave. Hopefully all sorted soon.
-
Still the same, how strange!Ahh Dave you aswell? Someone else is having problems also. Try deleting your browsing history and then try logging back in. Let me know how you get on.

-2 C is fine batrack, have you looked at the latest Met Office Radar? There is an intresting little bit of precipitation over Liverpool at the moment hence why you have cloud, I'm 20 miles away from Liverpool and have near full cloud cover also. As long as it stays in the low minuses for the rest of the night and maybe fall a tad lower I'm comfortable that we are in for our best Snow event of the season so far. Keep the faith!
-
Backtrack your panicing too much, the cold air above ground level is already in place and has been for many days now, its natural that should it cloud over the Temps will rise, tomorrow once the front hits temps will drop off day time max in many parts of the North West don't get much higher than -1 to 0. Chill out everything is looking fine.

Lancs_Northants thats a given!! lol I just hope I get something otherwise I'll be disappointed!!

Anyone fancy having a stab at how well the Billinge Hill area will do out of this?
-
From my experience Metcheck isn't very reliable at all!!
