1c in South Manchester

The snow just clipped us in Manchester with snow in the air. We did get some yesterday morning though, but melted.
Looked exciting for the Midlands today.
Roll on Spring now

To survive on mars we would probably need artificial habitat with some form of life support systems. Especially water processing systems, as with us being mainly made of water we would die without it.

Had snow here in South Manchester yesterday morning, quickly melted though with it being wet snow but it accumulated quickly.
Maybe a sprinkling tomorrow morning as showers move South then a bright day to come.
Cold night ahead though.

I was just walking by here not long ago
Two houses have partially collapsed after a sinkhole measuring 10ft (3m) opened up on a Manchester street.
Four homes were evacuated on Wednesday evening after the hole appeared on Walmer Street in Abbey Hey, Gorton.
Fire crews returned hours later after the front of two of the empty properties crashed to the ground.
United Utilities said it was dealing with a collapsed sewer but was investigating all possible causes including the recent heavy rain.
The fire service was first called to Walmer Street just after 21:00 GMT on Wednesday to reports an unoccupied car had fallen down a hole in the road.
A cordon was put in place and residents evacuated as a precaution, the fire service said.
After leaving the scene four hours later, the fire service was alerted to the partial collapse of two houses at 11:00 on Thursday.

WWW.BBC.CO.UKInvestigations are ongoing into what caused the road surface to give way, United Utilities say. They are unsure of what caused it but it was whilst we had storm Christoph

Manchester Police now starting to evacuate Didsbury, many roads already closed by the Mersey. 3000 homes at risk.
Thankfully, I'm on the other side of Heaton Mersey. It was extremely high.
They say it was the rain changing to snow that slowed it down from bursting and stopped it from doing so, otherwise it would have done.

Very wet start going to be like it for most of the day.

Nothing at all here in Cheshire, mum neighbour across the road back in Sheffield showed me a picture. I'm not looking forward to the drive this evening to get to mum. Although the woodhead will be picturesque.

Not quite needed just yet!

Been quite a few in the backgarden. Not as many now with the season coming to an end for them.

Wasp came into kitchen yesterday, tried to flatten it and then was having a go at me. Opened a door to let it out and it decided to go into the coat cupboard instead. So i locked it in there ha ha! Haven't seen it since.
-
Lots of white cabbage butterflies, having to put them neighbours garden though, so they don't lay eggs onto the vegetable patch.
Some lovely peacock butterflies about.
-
I've not seen many sparrows this year at all. We get a regular to neighbours feeding cage. The odd starling.
Seems to be more Seagulls and pigeons. Not seen many blackbirds either.

Walking up to Mam tor in the peak district on Saturday, and I think it was on Back tor (before loose ridge) taking a rest and lots of them! I wasn't having my lunch for long ! More of them this year than last. Must of been the hot weather recently brought them all out.
-
Anyone noticed how nasty wasps are getting? Mum got stung just putting washing out and dad nearly got stung attending to the cabbages which then chased him round garden. Quite a few of them this year.

A few white cabbage butterflies about..
Seen some lovely peacock ones about when in nature reserves.

Looking forward to these this year as always...
