this is only the 2nd event for Hinckley - if you call it that!  so pretty to see, came quick and the grass is covered, but melting already.  Our first event was before new year, but the snow melted very quickly then too.

Yes its lovely to watch falling which it has done here on 5 occasions here this winter. But it doesn't settle. My 6 year old son  is so gutted as he is yet to go sledging make a snowball or snowman this winter.

    Evening guys.

Not looked tonight what are the chances of a snow event for tomorrow?

I am out on the roads all day tomorrow and want to be prepared.

If it is going to be a pathetic non event like earlier this week them I am ok.

Really don't want to get stuck away from home delivering.

Wondering what the concensus is so far?

I am on the border here in Burton east and west midlands.

Evening Winterwilf,we have a yellow weather warning for snow and ice tonight. But as usual the worst of the snow seems to be north and east of us again. We may get a few hours of wet snow in the morning but like yesterday I dont think it will settle. The front moves through by lunchtime leaving sun and showers.Turning much milder too.

What a way to kick off tier 4! Would love an imminent snowfall but you know what, this will do even if it’s very slowly thawing

A few cms have fallen now. Current moderate snowfall radar and Met app has it lasting until around 10am. Already way better than last winter and good model runs also this morning hopefully setting up a great Winter for us all.

For those of us in the snow starved East Midlands. Hopefully we see development of showers within the blue area over the next few hours.

Even that seems to be fizzling out and appears to be sliding down the west of the region.Apart from a dusting last Tuesday we had none at all!.

yep the Midlands are spoilt when it comes to storms, particularly this year, no decent kent clippers either this summer.

To be fair to us in the Midlands (I live just north of Derby)this is the first year in a long time that we've had a decent amount of storms.I have counted 6 this year here.Believe me the last 10 or so years have been terrible here. And I alway thought the South and south east was the place to be in  the last few years for storms.I think this year we have just been very lucky indeed.

An unexpected couple of cells just past through Birmingham..and on their way to Derby...a couple of strikes just south of Tamworth....nothing heard...but hey we might get lucky with some of the cells coming in from the SW

One CG here knocked out our power in Ripley earlier.  8-9 deep booms of thunder and  heavy rain for about 15 mins.A good show here.Best for the last 3-4 years.
