  1. I wouldn't get your hopes up. Its fairly tame down here - mainly showers.
  2. Gonna be a horrible sticky night - humidity is on the up, currently 71% with a temp of 23.2C. Dew point is 17.6C. Air temp doesn't want to seem to drop like it has the previous nights.......
  3. 3.2mm of rain in Plymouth - had a couple of heavy showers with gusty winds, but nothing special.
  4. Rain is getting heavier and heavier in Plymouth. Really feeling for those on holiday and in tents! Currently at 18mm/hr rain rate.
  5. The rain that is heading back into the southwest from the north looks like its picking up intensity. No sferics in it though.
  6. LOL not a single mention of the word thunder or thunderstorm on News24 during 12:30 update for today! Maybe he's not high enough up the ranks to say that word.
  7. The stuff in the channel appears to be rotating around a centre point located in the channel south of Plymouth. Looks like the cells are tracking NW
  8. Is that still "radar errors" in the english channel - they seem to be getting bigger and more defined.......
  9. There seems to be something developing to the southwest of UK .My Boltek is starting to pick up some sferics. Checked with some other sites (ise of wight etc) and they seem to agree....
  10. Metoffice have an early warning out for Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset on Thursday for Thunderstorms and torrential showers. I'm sure it will move location by Thursday lol.
  11. Quite a nice day here in Plymouth 17.5 Degrees, 75% humidity, sunnybut windy. Most of the showers are developing to my north over the high ground of Dartmoor.
  12. Morning all. A quiet night around the southwest. Looking at the lightning data, there have been some fairly beefy storms, but unfortunately not over the UK. South wales as mentioned earlier seems to be developing something. Link to website in signature.
  13. Guess i will miss them at home on Wednesday night as going upto Gatwick for a training day on Thursday. The drive home on Thursday could be interesting though. Looking forward to the first real test of my boltek detector (website below). :-)
  14. Just got my website up and running in time for the "storms" this week. It is based in Plymouth, Devon and includes a Boltek Lightning detector. www.bearsbythesea.co.uk It is still work in progress, but hopefully informative and useful. Feedback and suggestions welcome!   15. The guy on News24 at 5pm couldn't enphasise "thundery" enough - was practically in every sentance. Sferics now showing up over NW France.
  16. I've just checked my nexstorm log from last night - storms were detected to the southwest of Landsend - which were also detected by the ATD network. However nothing shows up over the IOM.
  17. Some thundery showers just breaking out off the coast of Cornwall. Quite a few sferics showing up.
  18. Heavy showers around the plymouth area with thunder and lightning. Very Squally conditions. Had 19.4mm of rain over the last 6 hours.
