Wembury, SW Devon, 6 miles SE of Plymouth, 1 Mile from the coast Brutal gusts of wind now blowing chunks of snow off the roofs. I think I'm going to make a pot of tea before the ice storm hits! Don't get me wrong - I'm not being negative. We had a crackin' day yesterday and I've never seen dry snow like it in the UK. I think we have lots more to come . . could be snow . . . could be rain . . . could be an ice storm. Good luck to one an all. Amber warning of snow updated to extend the boundary North East !

It's still moderate dandruff here in Wembury. It is definitely still accumulating faster that it can sublimate. The hill is very difficult for 2WD and as I watch on the webcam, I think we have our first strandee! . . . . Yep - he has bailed out. The sheltered spots have an extra 2cm or so from the last 90 minutes, although it is difficult to be sure that hasn't been enhanced by drifting. wx forecast - Increasing clouds and cooler. I think I'm guilty of that We had a good session yesterday in Wembury and every time I look out the window it seems the same - but actually, it's getting a little bit more stormy each time! My reference tree is sheltered from the easterly, but the wind is picking up here now. Temp has been rock steady at -3.6c for the last 2 hours.

I'm not doubting it. I'm not having a wobble. But I can see lots of people getting caught out if this is as bad as the predictions. Wembury in SW Devon is calm. Very light snow and the sun is detectable through thin cloud on occasions. No wind to talk of. Maybe that's unusual looking at other posts, but if it's not, people are going to get caught out.

Annoyed I missed a great photo op yesterday. I was walking down Mewstone Avenue in bright sunshine with a snow speckled Great Mew Stone in full view. I don't think I've seen that before. No change here in Wembury at the moment. very light tiny flakes blowing around. Not sure if it is new or just blowing around. Temperature : -3.8°C (Feels like -9.4°C) Dewpoint : -5.2°C Humidity : 90% Pressure : 993.8mb and Falling Rapidly over 3 hours <--- That low is on its way
