Was expecting a lot more than this for here today. Apart from the lightning in the early hours this morning theres been nothing but grey sky and showers. Not looking good so far.

We are in for a treat today I think. Cells are popping up now and getting more intense.

It's coming from the West. Lightning is getting more frequent and thunder is getting louder so Paul it should be heading your way soon I reckon.

And this is just night time. With all the potential later hopefully we will have much more wide spread storms. I hope these last all night and day. F* sleeping for as long as this lasts.

Kicking off here now! Lovely lightning forks and loud thunder. That was much faster than I though it would hit here.

Ok here it comes. Nice big flashes, seems more like an elevated electrical storm.

Such a disappointing night. Not a sniff of thunder or lightning since 10:30, and even that was terrible.
The lot coming over the channel looks tasty though.
Still plenty of time and tomorrow early morning and during the day / afternoon has the most potential to spark major widespread storms. Dont worry just yet.

Haven't heard a single distant rumble yet for a a few weeks but I'm still excited and restless watching the radars and reports...Please if you have a cam, upload pics and video if you can. May Thor bless you.. And me...

Eastbourne and Hastings is about to get battered by a mega storm. Throwing out some major strike over the channel.

It's a good sign so far, but this year, I have seen very large thunderstorms move towards Manchester and simply die out just before they get here.
Yeah same here! Hopefully this will be the day of days.

BBC and Met Office are pessimistic on thier forecasts for thunderstorms here until at least 4pm Saturday....I can't trust thier forecasts at all anymore though to be honest. They get it wrong 90% of the time when it comes to storms. I trust my own judgements more and the opinions and reports from you on here. I think it's looking good judging by the radars but what time do you reckon it will kick off up here?
I think we may see some action around 5/6am onwards. Anyone up North got an opinion forecast of your own?

I wish the best of luck to all of you all over the Country. It's looking juicy in vast areas of England, Wales and Scotland for some big thunder storms late Friday Night and in to Saturaday. All through Saturday too. Please though, if you have a camera record it!

There's much potential yeah but I am still pessimistic. Maybe we'll have a few rumbles on Saturday. Albeit in the distance as per usual for this area.

Cool with moderate rain with no sign of thunderstorms.
Yeah it's frustrating. We haven't has a single thunderstorm here this year really, just a few distant rumbles and some near misses. I thought with this heat and humdity something would have kicked off by now.

Just had a downpour of epic proportions. A few flashes of lightning and some loud thunder in the distance. Think it is getting closer as the rain is picking up again.

One faint flash and quite a loud distant rumble here so far. Most of the good stuff is over to the east as usual.

Well so much for the mega storms forecast for here...I'm happy for all you that got them and still are though. The ones moving up from the south now will pass East of here and I can't see much else developing in this area. Been grey and cloudy with showers all day. The sun is out now but I don't think that will help.
