A lively line of discrete storms emerging over the central southern area. Tracking NW. Let's see what we get of it.
-
Sunnyish start to the day.
XC Weather forecasting that it will stay like this all day, whilst the Met Office says moderate rain from lunchtime onward.
Jeez, how can they be so far apart in forecasting something that will happen in 3 hours?!

Gloomy start to the day.

Persistent drizzle/rain at the moment, very nice for the lawn which had dried out over the last week.
I always find it fascinating when you have rain when there is predominantly sinking air present (1030 hPa).

MP-R Yes, same here. Yesterday was doable as our house blocks out the N wind, but today must have had a bit more E in it as it was too cold to sit out in shorts and a t-shirt.
The local Met Office forecast for tomorrow looks weird - persistent rain yet a barometric pressure of 1030 bar?

Woke up this morning and it was sunny. I turn my back for 5 mins and the gloom moves in!

Andy Bown It's 1600 now and the showers are still following the same NNW-SSE path. Been watching them all day. Almost unbroken sun through the day here in Portishead but probably a persistently showery day for those 15-20 miles to the east.

Alternating between grey and bright here this morning, not unusual when we get a NW air stream here.

Bobd29 Wishing you the best of luck. I've had multiple skin cancer operations in recent years, some simple and some complex, I always try to view the procedures as positive events, despite my various phobias around operations. It helps a bit. Hope it goes well and you are posting here again shortly!

Dorsetbred I've probably just given them an excuse to put up their prices.

Windy day but not much rain. Decided it was a painting day anyway. Been a few of those recently.

MP-R Was in Clevedon just under an hour ago and got completely soaked in a heavy shower!

Things livening up just south of where I am. Not followed the weather much today but looks like some sort of convergence zone?
-
Yes just looks like a wet blob now

Some lively weather coming in off the channel.

Not a bad day, all in all. Plenty of sun. Needless to say, I had painting to finish up.

Lively day today. No thunder heard, but a few hailstorms.

Nice 'sferics overhead just now.
Not hear a decent crack of thunder in a while.
Been staring out the windows all day given there is a rare tornado threat for our area, but not seen anything twisty and turny so far.

Lots of energy to our south. Could be an interesting few hours.

Gloomy start to the day.

Not a bad start to the day. I few dark clouds about but the sun is regularly poking through.

Appears to be a weak convergence zone developing in a line running from London through to Gloucester and beyond.
Some chance of it getting interesting where I am, but in truth Bristol/Portishead is probably a bit too far South of the CZ line.
