I notice that the leaves were falling off trees in and around my area today , just looked odd knowing it was very warm , sunny but in Autumn .
Could be because we are into September, however trees will also occasionally shed their leaves due to heat and/or lack of moisture.

Are we due rain??
20 degree dew point here at the moment (77% RH) so I don't think a shower is out of the question.

Makes sense, one would just still expect inland to be warmer than on the coast. Makes me dubious about that reading. Unless the built up nature if Clevedon is the reason.
Here and now, high cloud from this morning clearing and the temp now responding. 25.7 with high humidity.
Yes, hard to tell how accurate the readings are. Clevedon is an idiosyncratic topography, which I won't even attempt to describe here, so I imagine that there are temperature variations even within a mile or so. Moreover, there's a lot of concrete and tarmac in the centre of Clevedon and it certainly feels warmer there than it does where I live.
Throughout the year, we in Portishead are typically a couple of degrees warmer than elevated Lulsgate, which seems to be the most 'official' of the Bristol weather stations, and that is reading 27 degrees at the moment. And we are usually a degree warmer than the 'Marty Hicks' weather station in north Bristol, which at the moment is showing 28.x degrees.
Weather data for Horfield and Filton, Bristol UK
WWW.MARTYNHICKS.UKCurrent weather data from an automatic weather station since February 2004, including webcam, monthly archive, live updates. Temperature, humidity, rain, pressure, wind, solar and UVThe Clevedon station I referenced has a current observation of 29.6 degrees, so more or less in keeping with that very generalised statistic.
I don't bother taking measurements in my own garden as I once used to as it appears to have its own weird microclimate, probably because of south facing windows reflecting onto brick wall and decking that seems to have been uniquely designed to cook the soles of one's feet!

Blimey. On the Severn Estuary coast of all places..!
We get the heat when there is enough E in the wind. Time of day can influence also. There are big tides at the moment with low tide around late afternoon. On a big tide the area of estuary between Clevedon and Portishead practically empties out, thus any cooling sea breeze effect is reduced.

North Somerset cracked 30 degrees today. Missed it as was up near Evesham, where it was warm but maybe a couple of degrees cooler than home.

Lovely start to the day here. Looks like it's going to be a cracker.
-
Grey day, looks like it might drizzle
-
So some heavy showers and rumbles of thunder at different times today. Not much of which was in the Met Office forecast!
-
Looks like it could be quite an entertaining day weatherwise on the south coast. I hope some of the fun and games heads further north but not looking too likely.
-
Mostly cloudy here today despite Met Office promising sun...

It’s really trying to be a nice day today but still too much cloud around. Same old story.
And a little patch of rain heading in our direction. It may peter out before reaching us - we'll see.
-
Raining here as I type, despite Met Office stating that there's less than a 10% chance of rain at the moment.
I suppose they technically aren't wrong, as they didn't say 0%

Cloudy start to the day with sunny intervals. Some showers trying to cross the channel but seem to be getting capped out.
-
Looks like it's going to be a warm one today.
-
Some brief rain showers in the area this morning, despite the Met Office stating a <5% chance of precipitation.
Another rain cloud to the N but looks like it will miss us.

For those in the west of the region, worth a quick read, seems we are too far east to collect any of this..
Severe Convective Weather & Storms Forecast - Netweather.tv
WWW.NETWEATHER.TVYes, saw that earlier. It confused me as the radar is fairly benign and today doesn't have a thundery feel to it. But then I actually read the forecast properly (ahem) and I can see that the potentially thundery weather is for tonight/tomorrow morning.

Cloudyish here, with the sun trying to break through. Lots of rain yesterday and the grass is looking nice and green.
-
Broken sun with occasional heavy rain showers here
-
Wall to wall sun today. Headed over the bridge for a cup of tea in Chepstow. Returned to the garden to discover that it's Flying Ant Day again.

A crackin day out there a peak of 21.1°C at: 14:49, and intermittent spells of warming sunshine, has summer returned...maybe...just maybe for later in the week. I hope so as I'm taking my grandkids down to the Donkey Sanctuary this week so a warm and dry day will be appreciated.
I used to sponsor a donkey down there. Can't remember his name. Could have been Brian.

It's like April here today - sunny spells with some very sharp showers. Must be some pretty cold air aloft ...

It's not going to be a fun first night of camping for those heading down to the SW today ...

No atmospheric action last night, however there is a tidy little electrical cell heading our way currently. Fingers crossed.
