    I am feeling quite confident that we will get a cold winter and a long one. But whether there will be snow or not is a different mater. It all depends on all the different factors.

    This has shown me some things to look out for when it comes to looking at the charts when looking for cold weather.

    wasn't the gulf stream a factor to the cold weather of 2009/2010. so if the it is flowing from a cold continent like it was last time then we should expect a snow fest.

    This is probably because of the 2 winters of heavy snow which made people think that this would be the trend for the next winters. This was then spoiled by last years mild winter, so people are hopping for a big freeze to make up for it.this is the reason for me anyway.
