It's all gone quiet from us south east folk. I thought things were looking good. Now expected to kick off around midnight.
Are there any sferics from the french stuff yet? I don't know how to check.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yep I must admit I was being a little negative there. Nothing to do with quiting smoking today I'm sure. Just want to see storms to pass the time I guess. Still like you say chin up, the day is young

I'll be lucky to see a shower here today, let alone a storm, all north and west as usual, I don't usually complain but this is getting frustrating.

Well rarely I'm confused lol !!! I'm sitting in my garden under what is clearly the eastern edge of the anvil. The thing is I've been expecting it to encroach from the west bu it seems to not be moving at all, where is it heading. the anvil is moving from west to east, but is the track the storm is taking? I suppose what really want to know is am I gonna get battered? Hope so.
Can anyone assist?

Just a quick question. To the south of the main trough have we lost any trigger for storms for the rest of the day? We seem to have a clear slot with some strong sun, but without any forcing I guess it could be another sunny day.

I think some fast developing storms could form anywhere south of the main area later. Some proper convection happening here now. Will be interested to see if anything kicks off later. Someone from another board said there are new storms forming way south into west france north of spain as well. But I think it will be homegrowns that could pleasantly suprise people later in the evening.

Well I think the temps have made the grade over the south east. Looking black over towards SE London from where I am as well as other convection kicking off. I have a feeling we may still see something during the evening.

Hi Everyone
Well a strange day here so far. Woke up early this morning and had the most intense downpour, I haven't seen rain like it since I was in Hong Kong. Since then we've had spells of really fast moving low cloud ingterspersed with blazing sunshine (which is the case now as I type). I was convinced that the storms in the channel to the south east of Kent were gonna show up. What happened? have the steering winds shifted them to the continent? Ah well I'm off to enjoy the sun. I still think there's enough insability around to kick of a storm anywhere in the south, although I'd have to favour west of London and northwards.

can see that storm in chelmsford from where i am. cant see lightning but the sky looks really dark.
