Further light to moderate snow falling again @ 2oC
-
Well still light snow, turning on and then off.
A shame its not getting any heavier, as the flakes are ideal for ground settling.
-
Trying to snow again.
A few flakes starting to fall, but looks more like a flock of birds passing, all letting their breakfast go.
Now Snowing Light-Moderate @ 1oC

Well. After being away for a few days, I thought I would reports some rather dissappointing conditions, considering.
Sorry if a bit off topic, but seemed the most logical place to put it.
Left home on Weds at 16.00 with light snow. Between home and Spalding (Lincs) was light to mod snow all the way.
Once a t Spalding, and down to about 10 miles north of the wash, it was rain :o Yep, and the inch of snow from the morning had all but disappeared. Watched the local forecast for south lincs, and heavy snow was forecast, and we all know what happened then. Rain sleet and snow all of thursday (and that was for a favoured spot).
And then today, light snow in south lincs, getting more moderate again between Spalding and 10 miles from home, then back to rain.
Again a rather dissappointing trip, considering I was heading and stayed in a fairly favourable spot for some snow on Thurs. But hey the hey. Could have been worse.
Havent had a catch up on the latest developments, but currently wet outside at home, and certainly feeling a bit warmer than the rest of the week.
-
Just started snowing again.
More 'chunky' flakes this time, so settling better.
For here, this week has got better and better for snow settling.
Now, i'll just have to battle on my journey to lincs/norfolk border.

Moderate snow fall again.
Only some of the previous snow had melted.
-
Temperature - -1oC
Feels Like - -6oC
Wind - 12mph from the North
Dew Point - -2oC
Humiditiy - 91%
Barometer - 1015.9mb
Conditions - Still snowing (only a slight covering though), and a cloudy day (which is making all the difference here, and prob. in other places where the snow was consistantly melting yesteday due to the sun.
-
Woke up to a dusting this morning, and currently light to occasionally moderate snow (continuous).
After closer inspection though, the dusting this morning, was actually from hail
The best we've had so far (due to the snow not being int the form of showers)
-
whiteout again,now settling everywhere!!!
got around 0.5cms here now!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Then cometh the sun Kold, melts it all, and then another covering.
Its torture
-
Another moderate hail and snow (sleet) shower.
Because, I assume, the compaction of the hail mixed in, its almost an immediate settlement on the ground.
After a few minutes, there is already a covering in many places (including some parts of the road )
-
Another sleet (hail and snow) shower. Almost as frequent as pure snow showers.
-
Well. An early start for me today.
06.00 - Light snow in south derbyshire
07.00 - moderate snow jn 23 M1
07.10 - Heavy snow jn 22 M1 (so heavy that the snow had settled onto the outside of the fast lane - where the roads not gritted last night?)
08.10 to 12.00 - Northamptonshire - No snow fall
12.30 - snow showers around Jn 22 + 23 of the M1
12.45 - snow shower in south derbyshire
13.10 - another snow shower in south derbyshire.
I would say that the futher north and east, the better it is for laying snow.
All snow from this morning had melted on the fields between Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, except those fields around jn 22+23 of the M1.
Apologies as well for not doing the weather warnings, as I wasnt about, feel like poo, and also have a lot of work to finish.
Thanks TS for updating the thread.

0.00 in Bristol
Another total disaster of a cold spell for most people AGAIN. It's pretty obvious now snow is not going to be widespread and looks confined to North East and East Coast. Odd snow showers else where but nothing waranting going to the grit Box.
Just don't understand why this spell is not more widespread.
People who have had snow say it's melting straight away anyway. ROLL ON SPRING
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi BB.
The wind is only in a n/e direction at the mo, and widespread possabilities are more likely when the winds turn more easterly (late tues/early weds)
-
So that I dont feel left out, I would like to add a depth of 1mm (in places)
-
Currently 0oC, after a high of 4oC.
Wind is now from the n/e, as opposed to nnw from this morning.
Hence, one hefty snow shower, which is staying on the ground.
Update at 17.25 - Clea Skies, and I would pressume, temp dropping off for later
-
Just had a 10 minute hefty snow shower (huuuuuuuge flakes).
Has left a covering. Now 'spitting' with small snow flakes.
