Yeah I think this will be quite wintry in the mids away from M4 corridor, accumulation margins will be related to snow longevity, certainly not an evap cooling event in these areas at least overnight or early / late... Ultimately the higher accumulation area will get tighter in hi res until 18Z tomorrow and then see what radar's up to.
Also, I think the models *might* be failing to model the full extent of cyclonic style precip activity on Monday. This could well lead to a local build up of ppn through the day in the Midlands or even further south.
@Kasim Awan i admire your level headed analysis and predictions. I'm in the west of Ireland so no imby stuff. Keep up the postings. Bring on the cold.

As stated by previous posters we need a few runs to follow suit. Some sort of cold period is very possible. What we all want is a prolonged period of deep cold. Pretty positive the ECM will roll out similar to the other models. Hope you all had a great Christmas and a Happy new year would be a cold one.

But then you decide to post it here instead of asking me via pm and get a star like...Thanks only just noticed this post....I think the irony sums it up....Dumbed down charming but thanks for letting me know.
What you failed to mention by way in your dissection of the fact I've been a member ONLY 2 months was I explained why I felt we'd be in for a protracted cold spell further down the thread...Shame you felt the need to pick on my post but never mind.
Certainly didn't think I was harming anyone by posting it deary me.
You were not. Good post!

You're quite right, snowingThe latest models certainly seem to have firmed up on milder by Sunday. However, the next 48 hours could prove a real test on getting the exact forecast correct. Even now looking at the radar and pressure pattern over the West of Ireland , little eastward progression, everything going south. So in the short term evolution, still uncertainty prevails and the cold could hang on a bit longer.C
lightly here all day with front stalling.

A watched kettle never boils as they say. A little patience is needed as all the signals give us hope for Dec onwards.
