mardatha yes we have only moved 20 mins up the road, but now means the boys can walk to school and home again in 5 mins rather than 2 hours a day on school bus... smaller house as its now just the 4 of us as eldest has flown the nest.. and alsk Huntly gets more snaw so its a win win..

Well. Apologies for this late spam post folks. I’m absolutely miles behind in the thread now as I became a Dad within the last 48hrs. So things have been eh hectic! A healthy wee girl arrived safe after a tricky birth. NHS highland have outstanding staff providing a brilliant service.
Thumping down with snow at the hospital and through the labour.
Nice wintry scenes outside the ward window after the delivery next day
Have always found Culloden battlefield a good place to ponder so walked the dog within a brilliantly snowy onslaught there too
These conditions continued yesterday evening and in to this morning. Family in western isles saying they have had the most snow in years. Other locations the same. Yesterday and overnight it was great here

Flow freeing up in the river today as the milder temperatures arrived *boos audible
Hopefully another frozen spell will come soon enough and more kilties can get pasted with snow. Planning on raising another winter aficionado with stories of this particular blast for her catch you in a few months after I’ve caught up with what I’ve missed on here
Congratulations to you all... im at the other end of the scale now with my eldest turning 18 a few weeks ago and the announcement "im moving in with my boyfriend "...
Seems like only yesterday she was coming hone from the hospital.
Oh yes sorry weather forum.. milder today and the great thaw of 24 is underway... not sure im liking the look of this storm coming in, i dont think im ready for power cuts and all the joys they bring..

Hame noo. That was tough going, blizzards and drifting on the wee roads all the way to the AWPR.. absolutely knackered. Passed the road down to Pennan, somewhere I've always wanted to visit but wasn't risking the hill. The 20% grade on the road was hairy enough . Gave up following the sat nav and just went full Colin McRae and kept moving no matter what!
Pennan is such a beautiful place... i almost moved there a few years ago...and i can confirm thats one heck of a road in dry conditions let alone these...

Looks like we might have a bit of a gap before that massive bunch of showers heads in..
I make that 2 inches in 2 hours so another few bands like that over night could give us some really big totals by the morning...
I've missed the entire fa cup game on telly because I've been looking at the lamppost the entire time..lol..

Looks like some really Heavy rain in the central belt and borders areas... its been raining here now since about 3pm ish.. nothing majorly heavy but looks to be some heavier stuff heading in.. if only it was winter we would be getting burried with snaw...
