Sleet seems to be turninig more to snow in north birmingham
Same here!
-
Sleet here now but definitely edging towards snow.
-
Raining here now here in Brum.
-
Light snow here, about 0.5cm dusting on cars and trees, but not settling
-
Not a sausage here yet
-
Been tied up all day (not literally!) and haven't followed the models. If anyone is kind enough to fill me in did I miss any key changes re our region?

Light snow in Edgbaston Birmingham - not settling, but my first glimpse of the white stuff this winter!
-
Well, I've put my location in my sig, and hope everyone else does until they turn the location/viewing figures back on, as it helps a lot to know where people are. A couple of weeks ago I was worried that I'd wasted good money on winter tyres. I'm feeling a little happier about having them now. I wouldn't be surprised to see the odd light flake or two over the weekend, but if we're going to have an event here in Birmingham it looks like Monday is our best bet atm. Unfortunately we all know how quickly the outlook can change.

As our locations are missing, I decided to put mine in my avatar! Some pretty impressive charts today, although I'm only just learning to understand what I'm looking at. Not sure about Saturday, but it looks like the midlands could be in for some snow on Monday/early Tuesday - emphasis on "could" of course.

So snow looking less and less likely for boring Birmingham this weekend, as that low slips further south. Maybe a chance on Monday?

My first post on here, so please go easy. I'm still learning to read the models, but I think one thing we've (I've) seen here recently is that we must not forget, ever, that the weather dictates the models, and not the other way round. Things can shift on a dime when we least expect it. We can take nothing for granted.

Sleeting here now in Harborne Birmingham
-
Fantasy Island. It is the latter half of the run.
Because a runs accuracy reduces the further away from the start point it goes, anything in these stages tend to be labelled 'Fantasy Island' and unlikely less likely to come off.
GS
Fantasy Island, basically the far flung reaches of the model output where what it forecasts is highly unlikely to come true. Typically beyond 5-6 days but can be much less than that usually. I'd put it at 4-5 now.
Thanks - Lol that figures.
From Harborne too - looks like rain so far to me.

What's FI? Seen that a lot, plus most people seem to not take it too seriously.

Hi
My first post on here - so really just to say hello! I'm living in Birmingham, and have always had more than a passing interest in the weather. I was lucky enough to see the tornado we had back in 2005 at first hand - that was really something. Anyway, I've been watching the model discussion with interest, even though I don't really have a clue what they're talking about. From what I can tell though, we're still in "wait and see territory" here in the west midlands.
Fingers crossed

Rain here now and what little lying snow there was is rapidly thawing. Shame but that's us done and (not really) dusted for now. Now looking at the end of the week.
