What on earth is going on with the radar this afternoon, Is that actual snow or just anaprop? Trying to hold back the excitement for tomorrow!
Real snow
-
How weird, still nothing here in Aylesbury.
I do seem to be under a darker patch on the radar, It does look like it's heading your way though
-
Two smears now joining forces!
-
Snow getting heavier here and more keeps on poping up on the radar!
-
Hmmm, while Suffolk is being hounded by the blob from the East, we have been ignoring the approach of the smear from the West. Will it get here or disintegrate en route?
Well it's snowing on the western edge of Bucks for sure, hopefuly the smear will make it further east
-
Where abouts?
At my work sorry Ox airport hopefuly it will keep moving east
-
Just started lightly snowing
-
are you guys expecting snow in high wycombe then
You normally do the best round that neck of the woods, plus further west tomo looks the best bet for our region
-
I love how the model thread has turned into the winter ramping thread and people are just saying what the models show at face value!
-
Can't wait for friday, it's looking good for everyone in our region. A question for the more knowledgeable been looking at the NAE and is it me or does it have the snow coming in quicker than the other models and is it more accurate as it's hi res? Too scared to ask in the model thread!
Edit: Just seen NAE posted in model thread pretty much answers my question.. Such pretty charts though!
-
hi yea ive done it now hopefully its worked if not im in herts hatfield. i did look at the precipitation models and it looked good .although i dont really understand them lol
Cheers. I just like to see them showing snow! I think as other people have said it depends how the low undercuts and how far it pushes inland, looking at the model thread though it looks like if we get the snow we may also get a bit of a warm up after. I'm no expert though hopefuly one might pop in and explain our possibilities better?

Can you put your location in your profile please? Then we can know where us is to give you our thoughts

A complicated procedure involving a 'print screen' - holding fn and F11 simultaneously on my lap top (other pc's are different and might involve a shift and another function key) I then open 'paint' and paste the 'printed screen' into it and then edit it and save the resultant file under a name as a PNG type.
I try to do this before the radar updates again!
There's bound to be a better way!
Thanks! Not sure if there is an better way everything I've tried doesn't work

Radar and lightning grab from 11:35. What's the betting those showers diminish though before they hit land?
How do you get the grab from the radar? I can never get it to work always garbels it up..
-
There is some precip heading towards MK at the mo just over the east of Northampton, doesn't look that intense but is showing up as snow, they might get something out of it though
-
Just had a peek at the 06z NAE maybe a bit of bonus snow for some in our region?
-
It's been falling as heavy rain up there, but with the sun setting and dropping dew points / temps due to the clear sky between now and then, if it gets this far it should be snow.
Fingers crossed then.
-
Those red blobs over Birmingham look to be heading towards Aylesbury area, not sure if the intensity will last.
Been watching those, heres hoping they make it over this way intact!
-
but they have to show the broad weather type over the six hours. if they just showed at 12.00, 18.00, 00.00 then you wouldnt see what was happening inbetween (ie showers)
OK thanks will give up on snow for today then.
-
To me, that chart is showing the cumulative snowfall between 12:00 and 18:00 today, rather than 18:00 itself.
Confused because it's not the cumulative chart just the precip type one..
-
This may just be wishful thinking, but does anyone know if the precip coming over wales has any chance of linking up with the front that's stalling and could give snow a bit further west like the last NAE above shows for 6pm? or am I just reading it wrong/dreaming?
-
Someone blow some snow west. Still raining here
-
Light rain here, all snow has melted!!
